The League of Legends community is left with a bittersweet taste as we approach the season’s final event. While we are excited to see the world’s best teams face off at Worlds 2023, we also mourn the absence of some of the game’s most iconic players.
Today, we look at the top players who, unfortunately, will not be at Worlds 2023.
EMEA
Starting with the EMEA region, we have a list of heavyweights who will be sorely missed. Perkz, the Croatian midfielder known for his aggressive style of play and decisive performances, will not be present this year. His absence is a blow to the competition, considering his previous performances at the World Cups.

In North America, the list of absences is equally impressive. Doublelift, a veteran ADC and one of the region’s most iconic players will not compete at Worlds 2023. Known for his confident play and outspoken personality, Doublelift’s absence will leave a void in the competition.
Joining Doublelift will be Ssumday, Impact, Jensen, and Wildturtle. These players, each with their unique play style and contributions to their teams, have been instrumental in shaping the North American LoL scene. Finally, their absence at Worlds 2023 is a testament to the fierce competition in the LCS.
China
Uzi, Wei, Angel and Rookie will not be traveling to Worlds 2023 in China. Uzi, often considered one of the best ADCs in the world, is a significant loss to the competition. All exceptional players in their roles, Wei, Angel, and Rookie, will also be missed. Their absence underscores the depth of talent in the Chinese LoL scene.
Korea
Finally, in South Korea, BeryL, Kingen, Zeka, and Teddy will not compete at the Worlds. BeryL, a versatile support player known for his roaming playstyle, will not be there to perform his signature cross-map moves. Kingen, Zeka, and Teddy, all formidable team players, also failed to qualify for the season’s top event.
