If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past decade, then you probably know what Fortnite is. It was a game that was pretty much hated and called a “children’s game” due to the fact it doesn’t have ultra realistic graphics like Call of Duty or Halo. In fact, Fortnite wasn’t this big when it came out. It was seen as a small, battle royale game that was overshadowed by Player Unknown Battleground’s (or PUBG).
But as time goes on, Fortnite became more and more popular. How, you may ask? Well, it may be because the developers actually improve the gameplay and make it more fun each year, almost completely changing the gameplay each time. Or maybe because of the fact that Fortnite has the most craziest skins you can think of.
Speaking of skins, maybe it’s because Fortnite has been busy collaborating with other franchises and other pop culture icons throughout the decades. I mean, we have Captain America, Eren Yeager, Master Chief, Kratos, Goku, Vegeta, Nathan Drake, Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), Spider-Man, Spider-Man (Tom Holland), and so many more.
Even celebrities themselves have popped into Fortnite too. We have Ariana Grande, Travis Scott, Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, MrBeast, Mashmello, Ninja, J Balvin, Patrick Mahomes, Chloe Kim, The Kid LAROI, Eminem, The Weeknd and more. But now, it seems that Fortnite is adding another iconic celebrity to Fortnite, one that may have, admittedly, funny history with the game.
Lady Gaga Is Coming To Fortnite By Announcing It With A Hilarious Tweet
To understand why Lady Gaga being in Fortnite and her tweet announcing it being hilarious, you will need a little bit of context. Back in October of 2019 (where the world was a different place), Lady Gaga made a tweet asking one simple question: “What’s fortnight”. That is word for word, verbatim. The tweet became viral, garnering over 876k likes, 215k retweets, and 25k replies.

Many influencers and brands replied under the comments, even Ninja, who is a big figure when it comes to Fortnite. Many assumed that this was Lady Gaga subtly announcing that she was going to be in Fortnite, or doing something Fortnite related. But nothing really happened after this tweet. Until 5 years later, that is.

Today, Lady Gaga announces that she is coming by sharing of what we’re assuming is her silhouette, right next to the Fortnite Festival tag at the bottom right. The tweet itself is a quote tweet of her original tweet 5 years ago, with the caption of the quote tweet saying “*fortnite”, which is a hilarious way to announce her coming to Fortnite.
While no other information is currently out now besides the teaser image, we can only assume that Lady Gaga will be coming to the next season of Fortnite, as the current season will be ending on March 8, 2024. This also means that we can expect some more information soon about the upcoming season.
