Stuck in Low Elow Ranks? 2 Tips for Low ELO players to rank up easily in Valorant

Ranking up in Valorant isn’t an easy task when compared to other games. First and foremost, the number of agents makes this game about 60% a shooter game and 40% a strategy-based game. In this guide, we take a look at two essential game mechanic-related tips that apply to every agent. Before you engage in any aim battle, adhering to both of these tips is crucial to help you win any gunfight.

Tip 1: Do not move while shooting.

Movement errors in Valorant are very punishable compared to other games. Even in games like Counter-Strike, there is a margin for a small movement error, and players can shoot just before the character comes to a full pause. In Valorant, it’s the exact opposite. The player has to come to a complete stop to achieve 100 percent accuracy on their shots. Additionally, it depends on the gun and the range from where you’re shooting, but that’s a topic that will be discussed later.

Many players don’t even realize that their agent is moving while they’re trying to take shots. If you’ve ever wondered why your bullets aren’t registering, regardless of the fact that the crosshair is on the player, it’s likely because your character was moving during that fight. The best way to analyze this is to record your own clips of you dying and see firsthand if your character is moving or not. Also, you could use the movement error feature in the game to ensure your crosshair has completely reset, and you are ready to take your shot.

Tip 2 : “Crouch Spray” is fine, but leave it for the higher ranks.

There’s always been an argument as to whether crouch spraying is fine or not. Almost everyone suggests to unbind crouch and completely get rid of the “crouch” spraying habit. This is true to a certain extent. In lower ELOs, players tend to adapt to the habit of crouch spraying because of panic. This leads to whiffs beyond reason. Yes, for certain guns, the crosshair does tighten up when the character is crouched. This mainly applies only to shotguns and should not be taken as a mechanic to be completely implemented in the game.

With a Phantom, players are expected to spray a maximum of three to four bullets, reset the crosshair, and take your shots again. Do not crouch and spray beyond 6 bullets, assuming the recoil control is going to remain the same. With the Vandal, take short bursts of 2-3 bullets and allow your crosshair to reset. Implement crouch spraying into your gameplay only if you’ve connected with body shots and you have to finish the player off with the remaining bullets.

Don’t get me wrong; this is a touchy topic because in higher ranks. If your timing is right, crouching and spraying bullets during a 50/50 fight helps to dodge headshots from the opponent. This strategy is used at a minimum in ranks from Diamond and above. The concept of “spraying with rifles” is generally avoided by high ELO players. Hence, crouch spraying is often well-timed and considered an elite strategy, especially during pistol rounds.
