Ever since beginning of the 2000’s, PlayStation and Xbox fans have been butting heads for 2 decades now, arguing over which plastic box is better than the other plastic box. PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox began the war with its games and hardware during that generation. And while it was clear that the PlayStation 2 was the console of that generation, Xbox fans still didn’t give up.
And boy, did they have their comeback the next generation when the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were going toe to toe against each other. Even though the PlayStation 3 is a glorified BluRay player and the Xbox 360 was too busy getting the Red Ring of Death every 20 minutes, the Xbox 360 was the console that won that generation, no doubt.
After all, it had the best games, better UI, and it didn’t suffer from network hacks all the time like PSN did. While PlayStation 3 had some bangers with their game catalog like Infamous and The Last of Us and Uncharted, it was not enough to get them to win that generation.
Then once again, PlayStation got their comeback with the PlayStation 4 during the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One generation. PlayStation dominated that generation by releasing amazing games like Marvel’s Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part II, Uncharted 4, Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn and so on that made you think “maybe I should get a PlayStation 4”.
But in this current generation, the console wars has reached an all time high with PlayStation players bragging about console exclusives (that go on PC a year later) and Microsoft acquiring Activision (who are still releasing games for PlayStation anyway). However, there is one game that is bringing together PlayStaion and Xbox fans together: and that is Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2 is a game that is being talked about around the gaming world. It is a PVE multiplayer game that is currently only on PlayStation and PC with crossplay support. The goal of the game is to defend the galaxy from an invading force that wants to take over Earth and other surrounding planets. As Helldivers, you are sent to these planets to liberate them from the clutches of the invading forces.
But it seems that the forces of PlayStation and PC players are not enough to stop the onslaught of the invasion, as many social media users, primarily on TikTok, have made posts trying to get Sony and PlayStation to greenlight an Xbox version so they can have more reinforcements.

Twitter user MischiefsYT made a tweet talking about the power of Helldivers 2 being able to get PlayStation players and Xbox players to come together for one common goal.

Then we have Twitter user Taron214 making a humorous tweet of Spartan soldiers rushing towards the action with the caption ”Me and Halo community rushing into Helldivers 2 to assist PC & PS5 players as soon as it’s on Xbox”.
It truly is a hell of a time when both PlayStation and Xbox players band together to get a game to release on a competing console, all so they can play a game together.
