Spider Man 3 and Venom Games Leaked: What We Know So Far

A recent ransomware attack on Spider-Man developer Insomniac Games has revealed exciting, yet unfortunate leaks about the studio’s future slate. This includes insider details on the inevitability of Spider-Man 3, a new Venom spin-off game, and potential PS6 launch plans. So we’ll be showing you that and more!

Spider Man 3 Targeting 2028 Launch

The most monumental Spider-Man leak confirms that development is underway on Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, likely targeting a late 2028 release according to stolen documents.

Insomniac has set a high bar for Spider-Man games after 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Miles Morales. Given typical five to six-year sequel cycles and the original’s critical acclaim, Spider-Man 3 seemed assured. Yet fans now have internal confirmation on the threequel’s status rather than relying on speculation.

Interestingly, the 2028 launch window syncs up with reports that Sony will release the PlayStation 6 console in the same timeframe. This strategy would mirror the PS5 launch title Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Having this game as a PS6 launch exclusive could give the hardware an enormous advantage out the gate.

The leaks also indicate Spider-Man 3 may become a two-part, multiverse-spanning adventure titled “Spider-Man: The Great Web.” Story details remain heavily under wraps, but the dimension-hopping premise lines up with loose plot threads left hanging in Spider-Man 2’s box office-smashing trailer reveal.

Venom Spin-Off Game Coming 2025

While fans await the web-slinger threequel, Insomniac is developing a Venom spin-off game targeting Q2 of 2025. Likely expanding on the symbiote teases from Spider-Man 2, this 8-10-hour adventure will bridge the gap to Spider-Man 3 at $49.99.

The Venom game story follows Eddie Brock struggling to control his twisted symbiotic suit as it infects New Yorkers, transforming them into Carnage monsters. Players can switch between Venom and both Spider-Man variants to quell the outbreak across familiar NYC locations.

As a shorter, additive experience similar to Miles Morales, Venom seems poised to creatively explore the antihero’s duality while building up the overarching Insomniac Games Spider-verse. It could also prime audiences for the rumored Spider-Man 3 symbiote suit, if not an eventual Carnage appearance.

Additional Leaked Insomniac Games Lineup

Beyond the web-slinging leaks, internal documents point to several other Insomniac Games projects on the way:

  • Wolverine – 2026
  • New original Ratchet & Clank – 2029
  • X-Men multiplayer title – 2030

Each of these will likely target PlayStation platforms as expansions to Insomniac’s Marvel gaming universe. Online X-Men could follow in the footsteps of Marvel’s Avengers, while Ratchet & Clank provides a family-friendly change of pace.

What This Means for Spider Man’s Future

In a rare glimpse behind the gaming industry curtain, Insomniac’s confidential plans are now public knowledge far sooner than intended. This will undoubtedly force some security changes, but likely won’t majorly impact fans.

If anything, it confirms Insomniac’s commitment to further Spider-Man stories beyond the eagerly awaited Spider-Man 2. Peter Parker and Miles Morales still have plenty of adventures on the horizon against fan-favorite foes like Venom and Carnage. Tucking Spider-Man 3 into a suspected PS6 launch window also indicates an intent to drive next-gen hardware adoption.

For now, the leaks offer fans concrete details to speculate on rather than rumors. But as with any long-term roadmap, the final execution remains fluid. Regardless, Insomniac Games has earned trust in delivering captivating interactive Spider-Man experiences. So whenever Spider-Man 3 ultimately swings onto PlayStation, it should snare plenty of eager gamers in its web.
