Rainbow Six Siege Unveils Year 9 Roadmap

If you haven’t been around for the past 9 years, then you probably don’t know about Rainbow Six Siege. Which is practically impossible, as this is a competitive pro shooter game that millions of players play to get better and hopefully join an Esport competition focused on Rainbow Six Siege. Which is quite impressive considering the state it was in when it first came out.

Rainbow Six Siege came out in December 1, 2015, and many were excited to play this game. Mostly because the last Rainbow Six game that came out was Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard in 2011, which is a mobile game plus a remake of the original Rainbow Six game. But before that, we had the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 game in 2008, which was the last triple AAA Rainbow Six game we had.

So you can imagine that Rainbow Six fans were hungry for anything Rainbow Six, and boy did they get hungry for Rainbow Six Siege. Despite the very obvious graphical downgrade and the bugs and glitches the game launched with (in true Ubisoft fashion), the team behind Rainbow Six Siege did not give up on the game and continued to work on it, despite the negative word of mouth around it.

And lo and behold, 9 years later, Rainbow Six Siege is still up and running with over a million players playing the game worldwide. It also started several Esports competitions with Rainbow Six Siege, with the biggest Rainbow Six Siege event, Six Invitational, coming to a close soon.

It’s safe to say that Rainbow Six Siege will be around for a while, maybe even forever if there’s anything to go by from the director of Rainbow Six Siege. With that said, it’s time to jump into what we can expect from each Season in the Year 9 roadmap.

What to Expect From Year 9 of Rainbow Six Siege

Throughout 2024, we will be getting 4 Seasons, all of which will have their own Major Features, Player Protection, Balancing, Player Comfort, and Training/Onboarding. You may notice that there are no official dates for when the Seasons will start. That’s because there is none (except for Season 1, which begins on March 12, 2024). The reason for this is because the roadmap is still subject to change with new additions being added to certain Seasons as time goes by. But for now, we only know that Season 1 will begin on March 12, 2024, so get ready for that.
