If you have been waiting for some news on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s latest update, then wait no more because Insomniac has just released more information regarding their major update on March 7. This update is one that fans have been waiting for since the game came out 5 months ago, which is a long time to wait for information on this single player game.
In Marvel’s Spider-Man’s 2 version 1.002, the update will bring in the highly requested New Game + mode, which is a mode that allows players to carry over everything they earned in the first save file. Levels, stats, abilities, suits, and gadgets are all unlocked and ready to use when you start the game and fight Sandman once more.
Of course, if you’re like me, then you would have played the game several times already and beat it more than once, way before the New Game + update even showed up. You can also use those saves as well, as New Game + allows you to use any save file that has beaten the game.
But that’s not the only thing that’s highly requested. The game is also adding some quality of life changes that will improve the game. If you are still playing in your completed save file, you can change the time of day in the game so you can have fun with any weather in the game. You can also grab some awesome Photo Mode shots better without having to resort to using glitches in the game.
On top of the New Game +, we also have some new suits that may or may not to be your liking. First off, we have the Hellfire Gala suits that Peter and Miles wore in the comics. Peter will be wearing the design that artist Russel Dauterman created for him, and Miles will sport the design Bernard Chang made for his Hellfire Gala suit.
Those suits are for free, but there are a couple of suits that you can purchase with real money. These are the Fly N’ Fresh suits, original suits that are created in partnership with Gameheads. These suits will be $4.99 (as a pack), and will be available on March 7, 2024 when the update drops. These suits may look a little too colorful for some, but it might be something someone would wear.
The proceeds of the suits also go to charity, so if you want to make a difference in the world, even if it’s just a little, you can get these suits for $4.99. But if you don’t have the cash right now, then that’s fine. These suits will be available at a later date. The specifics are unknown, but Insomniac promises that they will be.
The Fly N’ Fresh pack includes the following:
- Fly Suit (Peter Parker suit)
- Fresh Suit (Miles Morales suit)
- 10 stickers for Photo Mode
- 2 frames for Photo Mode
While all of that is nice, the update will be bringing one last highly requested feature: changing the Symbiote colors. Yes, you can now change the color of your Symbiote abilities instead of sticking to the white Symbiote after you beat the game. Not only that, but you can also choose different suit styles for the Symbiote costumes as well, adding more looks for Peter.
This update is looking to add more replayability and fun to the game, and I’m sure everyone is excited to jump back into New York as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
