For fans of Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, publisher Maximum Entertainment has good news for you today: they’ve released the free Sacred Reunion DLC.
Sacred Reunion DLC brings three new playable characters: Ranzou, Chin Sei Mei, and Sonny, the third Lee brother. These fan-favorite characters expand the Rise of the Dragons roster and offer new playstyles to master as you take on New York City’s gangs.
The DLC also introduces new gameplay options, such as the ability to team up with a friend in the online co-op mode to conquer the campaign together. You can also test your skills in the challenging wave-based Survival Mode. If you want to try your hand against a friend instead, you can participate in a friendly competition in the new 1v1 Versus Mode.
But that’s not all! Sacred Reunion DLC has also brought along new upgrades that’ll power up your characters, a new difficulty mode if you’re craving an extra challenge, and a bunch of additional content to discover. All of it is available right now, completely free.
If you haven’t joined the fight yet, now’s a great time to do so. For a limited time, you can purchase the base game, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, at a 40% discount on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC via Steam, bringing the price down from $24.99 to $14.99 (or equivalent).
About the game
Set in the nuclear wasteland of New York City during the year 199X, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons features a showdown between the iconic Double Dragon brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee, and their allies against the criminal gangs terrorizing the city for dominance. Defeat one gang and the others will seize the opportunity to grab more power for themselves by enhancing their own abilities and bringing in new sub-bosses to take players down. To combat this, fighters have a multitude of resources in their hands, including:
