Yay Vs Rest Of the World? – Huge Valorant Drama

Major drama broke loose within the Valorant pro community this past week. The once-best player in the plant, “Yay,” has been thrown under the bus by his ex-teammate “Genghsta.” Yay has been accused of being toxic to teammates and apparently offered bribes to bench players. For those who don’t know, “Yay” is a North American Valorant Professional who moved to Korea last year to play in the tier 1 league with the team Bleed. Before Bleed, Yay had dominated the Masters with NRG and was the most sought-after player in the scene. Now all hell has broken loose, and shots are being fired at Yay by many.

Yay’s Beef with his Korean Valorant Teammate

The whole drama started when Bleed’s “CrazyGuy” was benched and called out Yay on Reddit for being unprofessional. For a month, CrazyGuy claims that the whole team asked Yay to play ranked Valorant to keep up with the game, but Yay failed to follow orders.. When they checked Yay’s main account, it showed no matches, suggesting that he never played during that timeframe.

Yay replied to the thread stating that he was playing on his alt account as his main account was still regionally locked to NA. Regionally locked accounts can only play in that specific region, and for region changes, the account holder would have to contact Riot.ย  Yay responded instantly denying the allegations while informing his teammates to handle team matters more professionally.

Yay’s Previous Valorant Teammate DSG Genghsta Calls him Out for Being Toxic

The peak drama of this whole situation happened when Genghsta shared a Twitter clip online showcasing a round during a scrim. The clip shows Yay getting tilted and venting out towards a teammate. Many top-tier professionals consider this “toxic” behavior just another day in practice.ย  Getting tilted and arguing is a part of every organization, and the community didn’t read much into it. Genghsta surprisingly said that he’s exposing this clip for the sake of drama, and that was the really weird part of this all.

Yay’s Bribing Allegations to Bench Players

Apart from this clip, Genghsta also shared a screenshot of his Discord conversation with his then coach. Apparently, the coach informed Genghsta that Yay offered $10,000 to bench Genghsta. This is a serious accusation that might need to be addressed by Yay soon. Though many say there’s no reason for him to lie since he’s now retired, Genghsta’s intentions with these revelations are unclear. Yay was once considered the best player on the planet with his VCT performances. He even managed to completely nerf and kill the Sentinel agent “Chamber” in Valorant.

Once Chamber was nerfed, Yay struggled to perform and kept hopping between teams. Now he’s in Team Bleed, which is a Korean Valorant team that plays in the APAC region. From the looks so far, Yay has not had the smoothest of transitions. His team is struggling to make any impact in the league. This new situation has taken things to a new “over the top” level, and Yay may have to speak out on it soon.

Have your say!
