These Star Wars games have all been canceled

It seems EA has pulled the plug on a popular Star Wars project. But that’s not the only game from the franchise that never saw the light of day. These are all the Star Wars games that have been canceled over the years.

Star Wars Mandalorian

The most recent title on the chopping block is Respawn Entertainment’s first person shooter. After the successful Star Wars Jedi games starring Cal Kestis, the studio was set on a title starring a Mandalorian – though it is unclear whether it would be the Mandalorian from the successful series of the same name.

EA drew a line under the project only a few weeks after the first rumors surfaced. After all, the licensing costs for Star Wars would be too high, making the game not worth the risk.

Star Wars: 1313

Probably the most famous canceled Star Wars game is 1313. The title was first announced in 2012 and fans were immediately excited. Indeed, in the game, players would take control of the bounty hunter Boba Fett and navigate their way through the underworld of Coruscant. The title 1313 refers to the underworld metropolis called Level 1313.

The end for the game came only when DIsney took over the entire Star Wars franchise and closed the LucasArts studio where Star Wars 1313 was in development. On April 3, 2013, all employees were fired, and a year later it was announced that Disney was dropping trademark 1313.

Battle of the Sith Lords

Star Wars fans interested in the dark side of the Force had their eyes on Battle of the Sith Lords. This title was in development at Red Fly Studio and was supposed to have combat in the style of the Batman Arkham games.

The studio only received little guidance from LucasArts. Red Fly Studio was only told that Darth Maul was to be the protagonist, but the developer was not even told that the Sith Lord would have a role in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Different concepts were tried, but development was very stalled. When Disney took over the rights, it officially marked the end for the project.
