Ready for a classic arcade nostalgia with a modern twist? Atari has announced the upcoming release of NeoSprint onto PC via Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch in Summer 2024.
NeoSprint is a multiplayer racing game that channels the classic Sprint series while adding a dash of contemporary racing features. The game pays homage to the single-screen racing era from the 1970s.
However, NeoSprint isn’t just a simple remake. Players will find a 3D isometric view, customizable and upgradable cars, the ability to design their own racetracks, and even the ability to compete against the best track times from players worldwide.
“NeoSprint does an amazing job of bringing back the fun of single-screen co-op racing while adding more modern elements of a racing sim,” said Waid Rosen, Chairman and CEO of Atari. “With its intense, co-op mayhem, NeoSprint is a worthy addition to the Sprint Series lineage.”
To ensure NeoSprint feels right for players, Atari and developer Headless Chicken Games have been carefully listening to their early access community. Since the game’s debut on the Atari VCS in October 2023, players have provided invaluable feedback that has shaped the game’s development for its wider launch.
If you want to experience NeoSprint early, the game is available in early access on the Atari VCS console. In the meantime, you can watch the announcement trailer below.
