Slap-Fight Anthology Rose and Camellia Collection Headed to Switch

WayForward and NIGORO have teamed up to bring the Rose & Camellia Collection, an anthology of outrageous slap-fighting games, to the Nintendo Switch on April 16.

In the Rose & Camellia Collection, inheritance disputes are settled with open-handed duels. You’ll step into the shoes of Reiko, a young widow determined to prove her worth as the head of the prestigious Tsubakikoji family. How? By mastering the time-honored tradition of aristocratic slap battles, of course!

Expect to face off against muscular maids, spooky spirits, and even a giant mecha in scenarios ranging from the “Death Queen Circuit” to a crossover with NIGORO’s La-Mulana series.

To emerge victorious, you’ll need to master the art of the slap. Use the Joy-Con motion controls or touchscreen swipes to perform perfectly timed slaps, dodges, feints, and counters. The game features a story mode packed with single-player shenanigans and a competitive local versus mode where you can challenge a friend and pit heroines against their rivals.

The Rose & Camellia Collection promises a unique blend of humor and over-the-top action. It includes five distinct games, over 30 playable characters, and the option for either English or Japanese voiceovers.

Although you can purchase the Rose & Camellia Collection digitally on the Nintendo Switch eShop, fans of physical copies aren’t left behind, either! Limited Run Games will offer a special physical edition of the game. Stay tuned for more details on its contents and how to snag this collectible release.

I started writing about video games in 2016, and haven't looked back since. It's been an amazing journey discovering new games and meeting the people behind them. Fueled by litres of tea and nightly legendary skirmishes on Halo Wars with my husband.

Have your say!
