The 2023 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) was a thrilling spectacle of skill, strategy, and sheer willpower. The year saw some of the most intense clashes and unexpected results in the tournament’s history. Among the many teams that participated, three stood out for their exceptional performance – Paper Rex, Evil Geniuses, and Fnatic. Let’s dive into the trajectory of these teams in the 2023 VCT season.
Paper Rex
Coming into the VCT season 2023, Paper Rex was not among the favorite teams of the tournament. Recall that this organization started the year on the wrong foot after losing the initial showdown against Cloud9 and being eliminated from the LOCK//IN. However, this organization adjusted its roster and brought in a superstar from VALORANT.
After the adjustments at Paper Rex, this team was able to experience a great regular season, losing only two games. The Singapore-based team exhibited a unique blend of strategic depth and individual skill, instrumental in their rise to the top.
On the other hand, Paper Rex had an excellent regular season and performed excellently in international competitions. Although one of their players could not attend the Tokyo Masters due to visa problems, and the team had to play with a substitute, they showed great potential. The team finished third in the Tokyo Masters.
Then, in the 2023 VALORANT Champions, Paper Rex had a better result, and although they did not win the championship, they managed to take second place. It was certainly a meteoric rise for Paper Rex during the VCT 2023, a feat that left many established teams behind.
We end our season at #VALORANTChampions with a π₯ second place finish and we couldn’t be more proud of our team and the work they put in.

Fnatic
The VCT 2023 season was proof of Fnatic’s dominance in the VALORANT scene. The European powerhouse demonstrated an unmatched level of skill and strategy, securing its place among the top teams in the region.
Fnatic arrived at the Tokyo Masters as one of the favorite teams, with much of the community expecting them to take home the trophy. Well, the predictions were right, and Fnatic was crowned as the champion of this tournament.
However, despite being among the best teams in the VALORANT world, Fnatic could not continue its winning streak at VALORANT Champions 2023. In this important tournament, the team only came in fourth place.

Evil Geniuses
Evil Geniuses, without a doubt, had an excellent season in 2023. This team went from being among the worst in the North American VALORANT scene to being among the best.
It can be said that Evil Geniuses had a bad start to the season. However, they managed to qualify for the Tokyo Masters. In this tournament, the team showed they had an ace up their sleeve despite arriving with low expectations. However, they showed great power and took second place.
Now, things started to get much better at the VALORANT Champions 2023. In this tournament, they did not arrive as a weak organization but as one of the favorites to take home the title. Evil Geniuses managed to conquer the most important tournament of the year and were crowned the best team in VALORANT.
