Steam Celebrates Iconic DC Character’s Birthday With a Sale

Bruce Wayne and Batman has been an iconic character since his first appearance in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. Since then, Batman and Bruce Wayne became iconic figures in comics. But we soon find out that Batman is just awesome in any form of media. Comics, movies, TV shows, animation, live action adaptations, video games, and even music (LEGO Batman is a rockstar).

While we all mourn the loss of Kevin Conroy, who is undeniably the voice everyone hears when they read a Batman comic, we can celebrate the life of Bruce Wayne and Batman, both sides of the same person that has brought not only justice and hope for Gotham, but entertainment to us, the people who have been playing Batman games for a long time.

So for Bruce Wayne’s birthday, Steam is celebrating the billionaire playboy’s birthday by putting almost all games that Batman or Bruce Wayne is featured in at incredibly low prices from February 19 to February 26.

Batman Arkham Series

You can’t have a Batman sale without the video game series that made Batman popular to begin with. While it’s undoubtedly Christian Bale’s Batman movies that revived the love of the character, it was the Batman Arkham games that made everyone feel like they were Batman. From Batman Arkham Asylum to Batman Arkham Knight, you can play the entire series now (yes, including Batman Arkham Origins).

The Arkham series is undoubtedly the best superhero video game series out there. While Marvel’s Spider-Man is a good contender, the Arkham series is a much more beloved video game series compared to it. In fact, it is the gold standard of how to do superhero games. Don’t miss out on this sale and get all of these amazing games at unbelievably low prices.

Just don’t get Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League right after. You might feel a bit emotional at one of the scenes.

Injustice 1 and 2

If you’re in a fighting game mood, then you can grab both Injustice games at low prices. These games are developed by the same developers who make the Mortal Kombat games, so you know that you’ll be playing with high quality character models with some of the coolest costumes that allows you to mix and match.

Both games have story modes that shows you a timeline that asks the question: “What if Superman went evil?” The answer is pretty shocking, as Injustice Superman is actually quite the tyrant when he takes over the world. But can you blame the guy? The Joker did some really nasty things to him, more specifically his wife and unborn child.

If you love the Injustice story, then you should definitely check out the Injustice comic run, as it dives into parts of the story that were only mentioned in the game.

Gotham Knights

Originally thought to be a direct sequel to Batman Arkham Knight, Gotham Knights is actually not that. It is an entirely different universe separate from the Arkhamverse. But instead of playing as Batman himself, you play as the Batfamily: Nightwing, Red Hood, Robin, and Batgirl. After the death of both Batman and Bruce Wayne, the kids are left to pick up what their mentor left behind.

In this game, you will be able to choose between the four characters, all of which have different playstyles that cater to the player. Red Hood specializes in range attacks while Nightwing specializes in acrobatic movement during combat. Then we have their traversals, like Robin being able to teleport with a Waynetech satellite and Batgirl gliding around with her cape, just like in the Arkham games.

Here are the other games that are also on sale:

  • Batman Arkham VR
  • LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
  • LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
  • LEGO Batman: The Videogame
  • LEGO DC Super-Villains
