Rocksteady Talks About This Week’s Patch, The Current Meta, and Upcoming Patches

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is DC’s attempt at cashing in on the live service market, which is admittedly a very oversaturated market. But for some reason, instead of making a Superman game or a Batman game again, they made Rocksteady spend their time and resources in creating what is probably a good game that is plagued with issues.

I say good game because if you take away the fact that it’s a continuation of the Arkham games and that you are essentially killing the Justice League, there’s a solid looter shooter here. The bad word of mouth this game has gotten is just giving it a bad rep. But I can’t blame them when games like Helldivers 2 are fun to play at a cheaper price.

Either way, Rocksteady is committed in making Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League work, and I applaud them for that. Now, let’s take a look at what Rocksteady has to say about what’s happening in the game.

This Week’s Patch

The game has recently received a patch that was supposed to squash some bugs in the game, which it did. It however also introduced another bug that is causing players to be stuck on an infinite loading screen after completing an Incursion mission, which is essentially the end game content of the game. Many players have said that while they do keep the rewards of the mission after restarting the game, it does prevent them from progressing through the end game.

Rocksteady acknowledges that the bug is there and are actively working on fixing it, but we still have no information when it’s coming out. We do, however, have some information regarding some other highly requested fixes and their statuses. Here’s what they have to say:

  • While some of the login issues previously reported by our community have been addressed in the latest patch, we are aware that some players are still encountering difficulties logging into the game. We’re working on these and will continue to update the community in future patch notes.
  • For players experiencing lag when playing in Multiplayer sessions, we believe this patch has helped to alleviate this issue somewhat. For players who are unable to join Multiplayer sessions entirely, we are actively working on this problem.
  • Mastery Progression issues. Despite a fix for players unable to progress to higher Mastery Levels being included in the ‘resolved issues waiting release’ section of our Known Issues, we were not able to include it in our most recent patch. We will include this fix in an upcoming patch.

But besides the Metropolis Loading bug, Rocksteady has also made some changes within this patch that allows players to progress through the end game faster by adding Promethium drops in Raising Hell tiers. And for those that are about to reach the end of the game, your first end game mission, which is a Mayhem mission, will drop 9000 Promethium instead of the original 3000.

Current Meta

Rocksteady has stated that they have seen the current meta that is going around the game after they have fixed the Burn status effect, and are impressed with how many players are being creative with their builds. From Freeze builds to Traversal Attack builds, Rocksteady believes that while the end game is great, they can do better.

They have stated that in the first Season, which releases on March, they will increase the Incursion missions from 3 missions to 6. The three new Incursion missions will be called Combat Incursions, which are essentially “unique and intense combat encounters that give you the freedom to experiment and explore the best way to complete the mission” according to the devs.

Upcoming Patches

For the upcoming patches, Rocksteady are planning on releasing the following fixes and other changes:

  • BOOM! won’t trigger from Suicide Strikes and Shield Harvesting kills.
  • Affliction Immunity will cancel any damage taken.
  • Damage of Counter shots to Brainiac in a Mayhem mission will be increased.
  • Killing Time mission will be changed in Episode One of Season 1 to be more contained in a concentrated area for a more intense battle.
