When you think of Nintendo, you think of gaming. According to Doug Bowser, the top boss of Nintendo of America, this statement is no longer true, as the company is changing.
Bowser stated in an interview with The Washington Post that Nintendo is evolving into an entertainment company. This is happening because the Japanese company is no longer focusing exclusively on gaming. These include theme parks based on Nintendo characters and the release of an animated film about Mario, which was also extremely successful. Also, several LEGO sets are available, including a construction kit of the NES.
So nowadays, Nintendo is active in many more areas than just gaming. However, Bowser stressed that gaming will remain the Japanese company’s top priority, so fans need not fear that fewer games will appear for current and future generations of consoles.
“We’re actually evolving into being an entertainment company with gaming as a nucleus of the overall business model.”
