Mark Gurman: Apple postpones release of Apple Vision Pro to March 2024

Apple is reportedly delaying the release of the Apple Vision Pro until March 2024. So writes Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman in the Q&A section of his Power On newsletter. Initially, Apple planned to release the mixed-reality glasses in the United States in January.

The delay, according to Gurman, is because Apple has not yet finished testing the Vision Pro. In addition, distribution plans would not yet be finalized. According to the Apple expert, a release around March is likely, in part because Apple is more likely to hold an event in that month. The cheaper version of the headset is also said to have been delayed due to production issues.

The Vision Pro will be released first in the United States; the European release will follow at a later date. Apple has not yet announced anything about the headset coming to the Netherlands and Belgium. Earlier, Gurman said the mixed-reality glasses may not come to Europe until 2025. Other than “early 2024,” Apple has not disclosed an exact release date for the Vision Pro. The headset will have a suggested retail price of $3499.
