CoD: Modern Warfare 3 is the eighth installment of the Call of Duty series and the third in the Modern Warfare arc. This first-person shooter is set in a fictional future in which World War III has broken out, and it is up to players to quell the chaos. An important part of the game’s appeal lies in its various game modes, each offering a unique gameplay experience. Now, then, we’ll talk about the MW3 game modes that have already been confirmed.
MW3 Game Modes
Team Deathmatch
To start with, we have Team Deathmatch, which is the most classic mode of MW3. In this mode, two teams compete against each other, with the main objective of killing opponents. The team with the highest score when the timer runs out wins the game.
Domination
Domination is a strategic game mode in which teams fight to control three points on the map. The more points a team controls, the more points it wins.
Kill Confirmed
Another game mode that has been confirmed is Kill Confirmed. This game mode puts a twist on the traditional Team Deathmatch. When a player dies, he drops a dog tag. The team earns a point only when it collects these dog tags. This mode encourages players not only to kill but also to take risks to score points.
Cutthroat
Cutthroat is a new mode introduced in Modern Warfare 3. In this mode, players start with a set number of lives and fight until only one is left, making it a true test of skill and strategy.
3v3v3.
New to #MW3, this is Cutthroat 💥
For 1v1 and 2v2 fans, Cutthroat will feel familiar with round-based elimination format and intense close-quarters. It’s 3v3v3 with custom Loadouts, a moving flag, and 3-way firefights 💪 pic.twitter.com/prQjjJfCAN

Deathmatch or Free-For-All
On the other hand, we have the Deathmatch or Free-For-All mode, which is a mode in which each player plays on their own. The challenge is to reach the score limit before your opponents or to have the highest score when the timer runs out.
Headquarters
Headquarters is a mode in which teams compete to capture and hold a location on the map. Points are earned for the length of time the headquarters is held. In addition, the team that reaches the score limit first or scores the most points when the time is up wins.
Search and Destroy
Search and Destroy is a tactical mode in which one team aims to place a bomb in a specific location, and the other team aims to prevent them from doing so. The attacking team wins if the bomb is successfully detonated, and the defending team wins if they manage to defuse it or prevent it from being placed within the time limit.
Control
On the other hand, teams can play the game option called Control, where they alternate between attacking and protecting two targets. The attacking team has a limited number of lives, while the defending team has unlimited lives but must protect the targets for a set amount of time.
Hardpoint
Hardpoint is a mode in which teams fight to control a specific location on the map. After the match, the team that scores the most points wins. Points are assigned to the team that controls the site.
Undoubtedly, the developers of MW3 will offer in their new title a wide variety of game modes that adapt to different play styles and strategies. Whether you prefer a classic deathmatch or a strategic game of Domination, MW3 has something for all FPS enthusiasts.
