Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of the rare RPG games that actually feature PS4 and PS5 split-screen options. It focuses more on the story and has a turn-based attack system which is perfect for those who want to focus more on strategy. An interesting fact is that the ones who made it also Baldur’s Gate 3. The winner for Game of the Year for 2023.
EA Sports FC 24
For this one, the screen is not technically split in two but EA Sports FC 24 is perhaps the most up-to-date football/soccer game to date. The graphics are insanely well made and is one of the best PS4 and PS5 multiplayer games when it comes to the sport. Play as your favorite players and feel like you’re on the field yourself.
Terraria
Terraria is one of the best sandbox survival games with limitless new content because of the constant updates. It has a lot of similarities with Minecraft as you create your base, fight monsters and huge bosses, and gather resources to craft strong weapons and armor. What makes it even more unique is the 2D landscape and the pixelated art style which the fanbase loves.
Overcooked
If you want to cook with your friend through a 2-player PS4 and PS5 game then Overcooked might be for you. It’s a fast-paced cooking game that prioritizes teamwork and coordination over anything else. You might be surprised how difficult working together might be. This is because most players who have tried Overcooked say that it was more stressful than their final exams.
Rocket League
Rocket League is what would happen if sports were mixed in with Fast and Furious. You play football/soccer using cars in a high-speed match to score more goals than the other team. It can be played competitively with a ranking system put in place. You could also customize the cars with different accessories to personalize your ride.
Borderlands 3
Borderlands 3 is a First-Person Shooter RPG game that’s primarily story-driven. You fight bandits and beasts as you collect loot to get even stronger weapons. The art style is very unique, mixing in fantasy, sci-fi, and a little bit of comic book-like aspects. It’s just nonstop fun and of course, has two-player mode.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderland
Tiny Tina’s Wonderland is very similar to Borderlands 3 as they were created by the same developers. The only difference is that this game focuses more on the RPG elements itself and might feel familiar if you’re a Dungeons and Dragons fan. You can play with up to 3 of your friends but in the PS4 and PS5, the local co-op can only have two players.
Star Wars Battlefront 2
This game has had a very rough reputation but with recent updates, fixes, and changes, it’s become a solid game worthy of living up to the legacy of one of the best games in the Star Wars franchise. However, you can only play two-player split-screen on Arcade Mode, not in online multiplayer.
It Takes Two
It Takes Two is the epitome of a good two-player PS4 and PS5 game. The game was made for co-op gaming and is an adventure game where you and your partner solve puzzles and finish the story. It also doesn’t have a single-player mode so you have to play it with a friend.
Resident Evil 6
We all know about the Resident Evil franchise. We also know that it’s awesome to play the game with your friends. Resident Evil 6 has a lot more action compared to the others in the series. However, that makes it even more perfect for co-op gameplay. Not to mention, it has a total of four campaigns!
