Online horror co-op shooter game RIPOUT receives its third major content update today, called the “Monstrous Update.”
RIPOUT’s Monstrous Update introduces a new enemy called “Bulwark,” a new mission type called “Recycler,” and a new sidearm called “Buckshot.” The update has also brought in new pet buffs, sound improvements, and new weapon fire animations, among others.
To commemorate the new update, RIPOUT currently has a 25 percent discount on Steam, bringing the price down to $18.74. You have until March 1 to take advantage of the discount before it goes back to its regular price of $24.99.
After the Monstrous Update, RIPOUT’s next update will be called “Take Cover,” which will introduce missions that require you to take cover as you move. After that, the “Home Improvement” update will be released, which will allow you to build a new room on your ship. You can find more details about RIPOUT’s early access roadmap in the image below:
If you haven’t experienced RIPOUT yet, it’s a procedurally generated co-op horror shooter set in 2084 where you traverse through infested spaceships as you try and search for the last remaining humans. Armed with your trusty Pet Gun, you will shoot your way through hordes of mutant creatures as you explore one ship from another. The game’s procedural generation ensures you won’t get bored playing in the same areas repeatedly.

New Enemy – Bulwark
Introducing Bulwark – a new impenetrable, minigun-wielding enemy type that will have you running for cover.
New Missions – Recycler
A new mission type with new levels is added to the game.
Clear up corrupted bio canisters fed into the recycler. If you are unsuccessful, the recycler will explode and your mission will fail.
New Sidearm – Buckshot
Buckshot sidearm is added to the game – a close-range sidearm with bigger damage output the closer you are to the target.

- Fixed a crash for the Client when joining the session while the Host was using a Pet scan

- Fixed an issue with Pet scan not working after the player targets the same enemy or critter for the second time
- Fixed an issue with enemies going into an infinite loop and not being able to attack the player
- Fixed an issue where players who join ongoing sessions are not able to use the escape menu
