Players in Helldivers 2 have been startled in recent days by blue lasers flying across the virtual battlefield, sometimes even appearing to take players out with a heavy hand. Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of developer Arrowhead, may laconically claim on X that the lasers are not real, but this mysterious statement by no means calms tempers.
It seems Arrowhead is hinting at a new faction with the blue lasers, which will soon join the battlefields of Helldivers 2. And if we may go off on this datamining, we could even be talking specifically about the Illuminate, a race that fans of the first part will surely remember. The future will undoubtedly tell.
