Diablo 4 Echo of Malphas: Everything You Need To Know

The Season of the Constructs in Diablo 4 is bringing all sorts of new challenges for seasoned demon slayers. Chief among them is the Echo of Malphas, a super-powered version of the big bad you’ll face in the Season 3 questline. This Uber boss is no joke, but defeating it yields some seriously awesome loot rewards. Here’s everything you need to know about finding and conquering the Echo of Malphas.

How to Summon the Echo of Malphas

Before you can even think about taking on the Echo of Malphas, you’ve got to pay the toll to enter its lair—the Vault of the Loom dungeon. This isn’t just an open dungeon, though, oh no. You’ll need to gather up some rare materials first.

Your shopping list includes 7 Igneous Cores and 250 Shattered Stones. The Cores drop from those fiery fellas, the Sons of Malphas and Heralds of Malphas, in World Tier 4 difficulties. As for the Shattered Stones, you can farm them easily by smashing Construct enemies.

Once you’ve got the goods, make your way to the Gatehall area in the upper reaches of the map. The entrance to the Vault of the Loom is tucked away in the lower section, right next to the Vault of Stone. But don’t just waltz on in! You’ll need to offer up your materials at the Corrupted Altar inside to gain entry.

Where to Find the Echo of Malphas

The Vault of the Loom is no casual dungeon romp. It’s a twisting, turning, trap-filled gauntlet split into multiple wings. As you fight your way through, you’ll want to nab any Keystones you come across in chests or from enemies. You need all four Keystones to unlock the way to the Echo of Malphas’ lair.

Don’t forget to stock up on Pearls of Warding too! You’ll need 3-4 of these to charge up the statue of Zoltun Kulle and get those all-important Warding charges. 40 charges should be enough to see you through the traps and hazards ahead.

Pro tip: Save those Warding charges for the very end! You’ll need 15 of them to open two incredible Wardwoven Chests after defeating the Echo of Malphas.

What is the Echo of Malphas?

So what exactly is this Echo of Malphas that’s causing such a fuss? In simple terms, it’s an uber-powerful, Level 100 version of the main Malphas boss from the Season 3 campaign. Blizzard has really turned the difficulty up to 11 with this guy.

The Echo is essentially what you’d get if the regular Malphas spent a few months indulging in demonic protein shakes and trenbolone sandwiches. It’s bigger, worse, and way more likely to wipe the floor with an under-leveled or under-geared party of players.

Because of the extreme challenge, your best bet is to hold off on confronting the Echo until you’ve hit Level 100 and assembled some true endgame builds and gear. This is not a fight to be trifled with by freshly-dinged level 70s!

Loot Rewards for Defeating Echo

Of course, that risk of getting thrashed by the Echo of Malphas is balanced out by the potential loot payoff. If you can take this uber demon down, you’ll be showered with rare gear and unique item rewards.

The big prize is the chance to score Unique Turning Stones to upgrade your Spider Companion. These are incredibly rare drops that can come either directly from the Echo itself or from those two Wardwoven Chests after the fight (assuming you saved charges).

On top of that, you can expect to hoover up a bunch of other legendary items and materials from the surrounding chests and enemies in the Vault. The more punishing the challenge, the bigger the payoff in Diablo 4!

So that’s the full low-down on the Echo of Malphas from the Season of the Constructs in Diablo 4. It’s an incredibly difficult endgame uber boss rush, but one that rewards only the bravest and most powerful demon slayers. Are you prepared to brave the Vault of the Loom and challenge the Echo? The treasures are yours for the taking…if you can survive.
