Be ready to clasp your hands and pray to saints after reading this article that will thoroughly guide you on gacha do’s and dont’s.

Know everything about MiHoYo’s Zenless Zone Zero gacha from banner types to pity system. Remember, with banners, you shall not lose hope!

Understanding the Basics

Nothing can beat the agonizing and thrilling feeling of waiting for a pull to see a 5-star item in your loot. That’s what makes gacha games the best, isn’t it? It definitely draws you to spend hefty sums for a miracle.

There are three kinds of items that you can obtain from Zenless Zone Zero’s gacha:

  • Agents: They are the playable characters. These are divided into two rarities, the A-Rank and the S-Rank. Every agent possesses unique abilities, stats, and combat styles.
  • W-Engines: Weapons that enhance agents’ combat capabilities. These come in rank varieties of B, A, and, most especially, the S-Rank.
  • Bangboo: The companion creatures of New Eridu. They provide assistance within the Hollow Deep Dive System by acting as combat support and damage buffs in battle. They are also classified as A-Rank or S-Rank.

New Banner, New Pull, New Chance

When they say “thank god for another day,” best believe these players meant “it’s a new day for a new banner.”  ZZZ features several distinct banner types that emphasize a variety of items:

  • Exclusive Channel: On Exclusive Channel, you have the chance to acquire limited-time S-Rank Agents during the banner period. It includes a variety of agents, from standard A-Rank to S-Rank agents, as well as from B-Rank to A-Rank W-Engines. However, this banner requires Encrypted Master Tapes to let you pull.
  • W-Engine Channel: A weapon-centric banner. Grab your limited-time S-Rank W-Engines that will match the latest Exclusive Channel’s featured agent in this banner only. Similarly, the pulling also requires you to use Encrypted Master Tapes.
  • Bangboo Channel: It is the ZZZ’s gacha for companion creatures. It follows the Exclusive Channel’s schedule and highlights the rares or special S-Rank Bangboo. To summon your companion, you have to spend Coup-En currency.
  • Stable Channel: It features the non-limited-time S-Rank Agents and W-Engines and serves as a permanent banner. Regular Master Tapes can be used here, and you can receive a 20% discount on your first 50 pulls. Unlike the other banners, it has a fixed pity system.

Know your Hope Insurance

Another pull, another chance—repeat it until you cripple under your desk for the unimaginable times you were unlucky. Hope insurance is the pity system that assures you that you will eventually get the value of your spending. By understanding the rates and pity mechanics, you can optimize them for your summoning strategy. We all want to pull off that 5-star dream, don’t we?

The pity system is a mechanic that ensures you receive rare characters or valuable items after certain numbers of unsuccessful pulls. ZZZ’s mechanics include hard and soft pity for their banners. The hard pity guarantees the players to receive a high-rarity character or item after a specific number of pulls, while in soft pity, the chances of receiving increase as you get closer to the hard pity threshold. Here are the gacha rates and pity to help out in planning your summoning strategy:

S-Rank Agents:

Base rate: 0.6%

Rate with pity: 1.6%

Guaranteed pity: 90 pulls

If you are ready to gamble, then the Exclusive Channel opens its door for you. On this banner, only 50% of chances to obtain the featured S-Rank agent when pulling an S-Rank are given. If luck leaves your body, you’ll be able to get the exclusive agent on your succeeding S-Rank pull after your 90th attempt.

S-Rank W-Engines and Bangboo:

Base rate: 1%

Rate with pity: 2%

Guaranteed pity: 80 pulls

Guaranteed pity is lower for this banner compared to S-Rank agents. There’s a chance of 75% to obtain the featured S-rank item when pulling an S-Rank in these banners. Though even if you fail to get the rate-up item after the 80th pull, the next one assures you of receiving the featured item.

A Step Closer to a 5-Star Dream

Worry no more if you didn’t get your desired character this time. Your pity carries over to make you always one step closer to the next banner! Among the important features of Zenless Zone Zero’s gacha is its pity carryover.

  • Exclusive Channel: Pity count carries over between limited agent banners.
  • W-Engine Channel: Pity is persistent across all W-Engine banners.
  • Bangboo Channel: Pity carries over between Bangboo banners.
  • Stable Channel: Pity is always maintained on the standard banner.

Another One, Another Dupe

It may be disheartening to pull duplicates, but ZZZ provides bonus materials when you obtain dupes of your agents or items:

S-Rank Agent Duplicates:

  • 1st pull: The agent
  • 2nd–7th pulls: Agent Signal Search x1 and Signal Searches x40
  • 8th+ pulls: Signal Searches x100

A-Rank Agent Duplicates:

  • 1st pull: The agent
  • 2nd–7th pulls: Agent Signal Search x1 and Signal Searches x8
  • 8th+ pulls: Signal Searches x20

These materials are exchangeable for valuable items in the in-game shop.

The Gacha’s Playbook

  1. Don’t waste your currency: It is better to focus on obtaining items like Encrypted Master Tapes and Coup-En for banner use, showcasing characters or items that will strengthen your team.
  2. Strategize your pulls: Keep yourself updated about forthcoming banners and decide thoroughly on your summoning strategy. It is best to put limited-time banners at the top of your priorities to acquire desired exclusive gear and agents.
  3. Leverage the pity system: Don’t just pull; instead, create a track of your pity counters across banners in which you have participated so you can maximize the chances of receiving rare items.
  4. Take advantage of the Stable Channel discount: If you’re a new player, you should utilize the 20% discount on their first five 10-pulls available in the Stable Channel to potentially secure an S-Rank Agent within 40 pulls.
  5. Consider team synergy: When deciding which banners to pull on, think about how new agents or W-Engines will complement your existing team compositions.

Eyes on the Prize

If you can only name one good thing about Zenless Zone Zero, it is the gacha mechanics that are designed to ensure that players can optimize the features for a chance to obtain their desired characters and items. Your 5-star dream is not far too long to reach as you understand the different banner types, rates, and pity mechanics! Strategize and optimize the banners as much as you can for a desirable result.

Remember to stay patient, plan ahead, and make the most of limited-time opportunities to maximize your chances of success in this exciting urban fantasy world.
