This leads to Contamination, making them take massive extra wind damage. Hitting them with a different element triggers a Vortex, which acts as the wind version of an anomaly disorder.
Why Season 3 is destroying savings accounts
While 2.8 is packed, the “Before the Wind Rises” teaser trailer for Season 3 completely stole the show. HoYoverse confirmed we are heading to the Roscaelifer region, and the character lineup is heavily stacked.
First up is Velina Airgid, confirmed as the first ever Wind Anomaly agent. If you want to abuse the new Contamination and Vortex mechanics mentioned above, Velina is going to be a must pull. Following her is Norma Hollowell, a Fire Stun agent. The biggest mechanical shift comes with Pyrois. This is an entirely new combat form for Phaethon. After watching agents fight for months, Proxies will finally have a physical presence in Hollow combat. Current speculation points to Pyrois being a free story related unlock in Version 3.0, so you likely will not need to roll for this specific form.
The great Sunbringer redesign debate
The hype around Season 3 is huge, but it also sparked a massive community debate regarding Sunbringer. As a legendary Void Hunter, former CEO of the Marcel Corporation, and ruler of Roscaelifer, she is a massive deal in the lore.
Players have known about Sunbringer since the early Eridu Era lore trailer. However, her new in game model shown in the Season 3 teasers looks very different. HoYoverse altered her horns, removed her iconic coat in favor of a dress, and gave her a very noticeable increase in chest size.
Many players feel the original design was more unique and fitting for a hardened Void Hunter. Others think the new model looks great and fits the updated anime aesthetic of the current roster. Since she is not releasing immediately in 3.0, HoYoverse still has time to tweak her design based on feedback, exactly like they did with Miyabi early on.
