Not we are already in July and entering the second half of 2025, there are some cracking games coming to both Xbox and Game Pass for this month with some pretty high-profile releases…. Kicking off July, Mecha BREAK lands on July 1 with its visually rich, fast-paced mech battles. Free-to-play and the sixth most wishlisted game on Steam, this title avoids pay-to-win systems entirely, offering only cosmetic microtransactions. Xbox players can expect tight controls and explosive action without needing to spend beyond cosmetics.
Holdfast: Nations At War joins the Xbox lineup on July 9, bringing Napoleonic warfare to life with chaotic 150-player battles. Previously a PC-exclusive with a dedicated roleplay community, the console version brings smoke-filled musket fights, cannon warfare, and spontaneous moments of in-game comedy. Expect a mix of tactical coordination and hilarious unpredictability.
Sports, Skating, and Horror Hit Mid-Month (Xbox Game Pass July 2035)
EA Sports College Football 26 drops on July 10, with dynamic substitutions, wear-and-tear systems, and likenesses for over 300 coaches. While only a trial will be available for Game Pass Ultimate users, it still marks a significant upgrade from previous years and is drawing solid praise from early reviews.
On July 11, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 arrives day-one on Xbox Game Pass. These reworked titles bring updated visuals, more skaters, modernized gameplay, and fan-favorite music, appealing to long-time fans and new players alike. Also arriving that day is Bendy and the Dark Revival, the horror sequel to Bendy and the Ink Machine. Playing as Audrey, players must survive a nightmarish animation studio brought to life.
Indies and Strategy Games Expand the Lineup
Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, launching later this month, is an isometric adventure from ex-Battlefield and Mirror’s Edge devs. Set in a 1900s alternate world plagued by heartpox, you must uncover the mystery of a missing boy named Herman. Its Commandos-style gameplay and handcrafted story make it a potential indie gem.
Ready or Not—a long-awaited tactical SWAT shooter—is finally coming to Xbox Series X|S. Priced at $50 and also getting a physical release, it’s received nearly 200,000 positive Steam reviews and is one of the most requested tactical games for console release in years.
Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business hits Xbox consoles this month too. This standalone expansion sends players up the Omni Tower in Detroit, facing mercenary groups with new weapons, brutal finishers, and self-contained missions. It’s designed for both returning fans and newcomers.
Late July: Shadow Labyrinth, Wildgate, and Big Drops (Xbox Game Pass July 2025)
Shadow Labyrinth, a gothic reimagining of Pac-Man, brings procedurally generated roguelike mazes, a compelling lore twist, and dynamic lighting-based gameplay. Launching this July, it offers a bold spin on a legendary franchise.
Wildgate, launching July 22, turns space piracy into a cooperative frenzy. Players crew up to compete for a relic in chaotic PvP battles, with plenty of sabotage and action across drifting space arenas. Think Sea of Thieves in space, with lasers instead of cutlasses.
Wheelworld, from Annapurna Interactive, follows a rider reviving “ghost bikes” across Freehub City. Combining racing, exploration, and emotional storytelling, the game blends semi-open world traversal with spirit-realm quests. Its dreamlike art style and strong narrative foundation position it as another Annapurna standout.
WuChang, Killing Floor 3, Grounded 2, and Ninja Gaiden
WuChang: Fallen Feathers, a Soulslike set in a mythic version of Ming Dynasty China, drops on Game Pass on July 24. Created by a small five-person team, it’s drawn early comparisons to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty for its atmospheric visuals and weighty combat.
Also releasing July 24 is Killing Floor 3, finally arriving after community-led delays. With improved design, UI, animations, and revamped gameplay systems, the game promises the series’ hallmark intensity and long-term post-launch support.
Grounded 2 lands on July 29. With a new location—Brook Haven Park—and added critter mounts, expanded gameplay, and improved visuals, it builds on the success of its predecessor and is expected to draw a major returning audience.
Rounding out the month is Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound, a fast-paced 2D side-scroller with new characters, high-difficulty combat, and pixel-perfect visuals. This new installment also introduces branching story paths for replay value and hits all Xbox platforms this month.
