WWE: 2K25 Review: 5 Changes That Make a Lot of Sense

If there’s one thing that the WWE 2K franchise has been paying attention to, it would be the visual concepts. They’ve been rebuilding on these which makes it worthwhile to observe the changes in their latest installment. So, here’s a WWE: 2K25 review on their key game changes.

The Return of Intergender Matches

It is the intergender matches that make the game interesting once again. The return of this content in WWE: 2K25 has many excited, from rookies to veterans. This feature has been gone from the series since 16 years ago. Now, the players can pit themselves against any wrestler despite the gender differences.

They can play with each other, regardless of gender, match type, and circumstances. Plus, it creates more dramatic matchup potentials by allowing mismatched wrestlers to fight among themselves. However, there are noticeable minor clipping issues that should occur given the size differences.

Overall, the visual quirks are nothing to expand the flexibility of the current roster. Plus, they won’t be featuring any blood, except in women’s matches, in implementing the intergender matches.

Enhanced Showcase Mode

Significant improvements also come for the Showcase mode of WWE: 2K25. This time, they’ll be focusing on the Bloodline and the Anoa’i, Fatu, and Maivia families. On the other hand, it’ll be Paul Heyman to gets the charismatic hosting job.

Also, they’ll be removing the “Slingshot” technology which lay over the real WWE footage with in-game cutscenes. Instead, they’ll be using fully animated in-game sequences for a natural gameplay flow. So, many can expect their creative approach to enhance the gaming experience.

The Showcase for WWE: 2K25 has distinct match types which are historical recreations and dream matches. The recreations consist of “what if” scenarios that change wrestling history. On the other hand, dream matches are fictional ones consisting of wrestlers you wish to fight.

Moreover, they lessen the interruptions to focus on actual play rather than watching the game alone. This makes it worth playing and exciting to experience so far.

Expanded Brawl Environments

Also, they’ve expanded on their backstage brawl options by adding new environments. They ensure to fill this with variety to perfectly fit any chaotic encounters. So, players can now take their fights in the NXT parking lot. They can dive off car hoods or use items around them as weapons like traffic cones.

Besides, they’ll be having the WWE archive as well, standing out among other additions. This lets wrestlers battle on top of the Wrestle Mania sign or throw their enemies to classic SmackDown fist. The new environments alter the current strategies and gameplay patterns for players.

Refined Wrestling Mechanics

This WWE: 2K25 review also noted the refined wrestling mechanics of the game. Although they keep the wrestling foundation of the previous iterations, it still managed to appear differently. In this, they let Chain Wrestling make its comeback to the game. It serves as a strategic minigame to facilitate technical exchanges usually early in matches.

With Chain Wrestling, the wrestlers have to search for their position and control the match through escalating holds. Other than this, improvements also include new submission minigame and natural pinfall reversals. They also reduced the Payback costs which allow more special moves.

Further, they added barricade diving for wrestlers that crash through these when in heated contests. It’ll definitely feel more realistic given how unpredictable matches can turn out to be.

Third-Person Camera Option

There’s also now a third-person camera option offered for WWE: 2K25 players. It comes surprisingly but fills players with delight since it lets them move from the traditional fixed view. Although it still encounters issues from time to time, the new angle provides a refreshing way to experience every match, even in expanded brawls.

Plus, they tailor this camera option to players who are also doing content creation. So, it gives them the edge to craft cinematic matches and stories throughout the streams.

Conclusion

That’s all the changes included in this WWE: 2K25 review. The new iteration certainly presented plenty of gameplay opportunities for players to make every match entertaining. It opens up a whole new potential to rise in popularity by allowing wrestlers to fight regardless of their differences. Definitely, all these changes make significant improvements to the overall gameplay of WWE: 2K25.
