CD Projekt RED and Blizzard Entertainment have announced a new partnership that will bring The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered to Battle.net on September 29, while Geralt of Rivia is heading to Diablo 4 as a playable cosmetic skin. The crossover accompanies the upcoming Songs of the Past expansion and is only the beginning of the collaboration, with more announcements planned for BlizzCon 2026.
Geralt of Rivia Is Coming to Diablo 4
The biggest crossover element is a Geralt of Rivia skin for Diablo 4. Players who pre-order The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past will receive the cosmetic, allowing them to take the famous monster hunter into Blizzard’s action RPG.
The skin is not strictly a pre-order exclusive. CD Projekt RED says players who purchase Songs of the Past after its release will also be able to unlock Geralt in Diablo 4, meaning there is no need to buy the expansion early simply to avoid missing the crossover reward.
Further details about the collaboration are expected during BlizzCon 2026, suggesting Geralt’s Diablo appearance may not be the only crossover content planned between the two companies.
The Witcher 3 Remastered Is Coming to Battle.net
The partnership also expands where PC players can buy and play The Witcher 3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will launch through Blizzard’s Battle.net client on September 29, marking another storefront for CD Projekt RED’s RPG.
The upcoming Songs of the Past expansion will similarly be offered through Battle.net.
CD Projekt RED highlighted its long-standing connection to Blizzard when announcing the partnership. Before becoming internationally known for The Witcher and Cyberpunk, the Polish company previously distributed Blizzard games in Poland during the era of titles such as StarCraft.
That history gives the new partnership an unusual connection between the companies, and CD Projekt RED has indicated that the Battle.net release is only the beginning.
CD Projekt RED Had a Busy Gamescom 2026
The Blizzard partnership follows several major Witcher announcements from Gamescom 2026.
CD Projekt RED revealed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, along with the first trailer for the Songs of the Past expansion, which is scheduled for 2027. The Remastered update itself arrives in September and will be available as a free upgrade.
The studio also confirmed that The Witcher 3’s two previous expansions will be available at no additional cost, continuing its approach of supporting the decade-old RPG with additional content.
That strategy has roots going back to The Witcher 3’s original 2015 release, when CD Projekt RED distributed 16 smaller DLC packs for free rather than selling them individually.
More Witcher and Diablo News Is Coming at BlizzCon
The timing of the crossover puts attention on BlizzCon 2026, scheduled for September 12 after a two-year absence. CD Projekt RED has specifically teased additional information about its Blizzard partnership for the event.
BlizzCon also arrives as Diablo 4’s current season approaches its conclusion, making the show a likely venue for further announcements about Blizzard’s action RPG and its upcoming content.
For now, the partnership has two confirmed pieces: The Witcher 3 Remastered and Songs of the Past are coming to Battle.net, while buying the new expansion will unlock Geralt of Rivia in Diablo 4. With both companies already pointing toward BlizzCon for more information, the crossover appears to extend beyond a single cosmetic collaboration.
