Which Lightsaber NPC Should You Choose in Fortnite Galactic Battle Season?

The Fortnite Galactic Battle Season has removed all standard weapons and replaced them with a completely Star Wars-themed loot pool. Every available weapon now follows the same blaster category. These are energy-based weapons that require no ammunition or reloading. Instead, they operate on an overheat mechanic. Firing too rapidly overheats the weapon and forces a cooldown animation, delaying follow-up shots.

Here is a breakdown of the new weapons:

  • CR-2 SMG: Rapid fire, strong for close range.

  • ACP Scatter Blaster: Pump-action shotgun with high burst potential.

  • Barm ST12 Scatter Blaster: Fast-firing shotgun suited for close-range spam.

  • DLT-19 Blaster Rifle: Medium-range, high fire rate.

  • IQA-11 DMR: Projectile-based marksman rifle that can deal over 120 headshot damage.

  • A280 AR: Red-dot assault rifle with first-person aim capability.

  • DC-15: Projectile-based returning blaster with slow fire rate and low bloom.

  • E-11: Basic blaster, underwhelming in performance.

  • F-11D: Superior version of the E-11, with faster fire rate and improved accuracy.

Except for the IQA-11 and DC-15, all weapons are hitscan. Two versions of each blaster are available, with several receiving mythic variants.

Mythic Weapons and NPC Interactions

Players can earn mythic variants of multiple weapons through POIs, NPCs, and map events:

  • F-11D (Mythic): Dropped by Captain Phasma at the First Order base. She also drops a cooling medallion, which extends the firing period before overheating and speeds up cooldown.

  • A280 (Mythic): Secured by capturing the train. The system resembles the earlier version from Chapter 5 Season 1.

  • IQA-11 (Mythic): Available from General Grievous in exchange for a lightsaber, provided community standing is high enough. Standing increases by completing weekly tasks.

  • DL-1144 Pistol (Mythic): Dropped by Shogun X at the island. He also carries the super shield medallion, which generates a Shield Bubble Jr. upon healing.

Lightsabers and Force Powers

Lightsabers return and can be acquired through Jedi training sessions with specific Star Wars NPCs. These interactions also grant special movement perks and one unique Force ability:

  • Rey: Grants Force Push.

  • Jar Jar: Grants Force Lightning, which disables vehicles and damages enemies.

  • Darth Vader: Grants Saber Throw.

Lightsabers looted from other players do not include Force powers or mobility boosts like improved sprint or double jump. Only lightsabers obtained directly from NPCs offer those features.

Vehicles, Healing, and Map Adjustments (Fortnite Galactic Battle Season)

New flying vehicles have entered the loot pool:

  • TIE Fighters and X-Wings can be flown and are armed with weapons that deal 25 damage per hit. They have roughly 1,000 HP and limited fire arcs (only forward-facing).

  • The driver controls all weapons, and no turrets rotate 360°, leaving blind spots behind the ships.

Healing items include minis, big pots, bandages, medkits, slap juice, slap splashes, and chug jugs. Slap items also boost sprint, with splashes healing for 15. Shockwaves were briefly vaulted on patch day but are already back. Movement tools now only include wall running, as rolling and wall kicks have been disabled.

Map changes include:

  • Banks and black markets have been removed. Black markets are sealed, and banks are fully destroyed.

  • Players can still use gold to buy items from vending machines and NPCs. Reboot cards and upgraded reboots also remain purchasable with gold.

Patch Notes and Gameplay

Thrown items this season include EMP grenades, thermal imploders (similar to thermite), shield bubble juniors, and portabunkers. The First Order base and the island featuring Shogun X act as high-traffic zones due to the loot and medallions they offer.

The weapon names may feel difficult to remember due to their alphanumeric formatting, but the gameplay loop focuses on high mobility, limited healing, vehicle engagements, and controlled overheating. Most items in this season promote aggressive movement, strategic positioning, and knowing when to rotate into POIs for the best mythics and lightsabers.
