Earning these points requires equipping your characters with fancy and stylish cosmetics. After reaching a certain threshold, you’ll automatically receive an invitation from the sect. Yet, this method is either bugged or hasn’t been implemented in the global release.
Meanwhile, the second method requires you to get married and divorce. Although it seems counterintuitive, this way works better than the first method. You’ll need to team up with another player and reach Companions intimacy level before traveling to Shi Yimo, Crimson Cliff in Qinghe.
Then, form a partnership with your companion and start building your intimacy. You just need a few well-chosen gifts to boost this stat.
The Divorce Process Step-by-Step
Once you form your partnership with another player, immediately seek Shi Yimo for a talk and select the Sever Partnership option. This will initiate the 24-hour real-time cooling period so wait out before finalizing the divorce. Also, plan it accordingly since you cannot skip the waiting period.
After the full 24 hours passed, go back to Shi Yimo to choose the Sever Partnership option again. It will present you with two severance methods such as Unilateral and Negotiated. Choose your preferred option between the two to complete the divorce.
Once the separation is finalized, you should receive a Velvet Shade sect invitation in your inventory menu. If it doesn’t appear despite completing the steps, restart your game and check your inventory again. Some players reported that you have to repeat the marriage and divorce process again to trigger the invitation.

However, the voting rights vary by rank as higher-ranked members receive more votes. Plus, only Four-Fragrances members can register as candidates by paying an application fee of 10,000 coins. Current Flower Messengers cannot run in consecutive elections and will need to miss the election after their term.
How to Leave Velvet Shade
Before you can leave the Velvet Shade sect, you’ll need to complete a Severance Trial first. Here’s what you need to do to leave the faction:
