Valorant World Championship Incoming: Is Riot Ready?

Valorant world championship is just a couple of days away, but there was big drama last night with TenZ giving his perspective on the state of the PCs Riot provides the players at the world championship and other events. This is a talking point every single year for many pro players, and TenZ is still frustrated they have not seriously addressed this issue. He came out with a clip on stream, then clarified later that he’s not going to bootlick Riot and will straight up say what needs to be said to improve the state of this esports.

Team Liquid 2025 Valorant Roster

The potential 2025 Valorant roster for Team Liquid is interesting. The theoretical lineup could include Angel as the IGL, Ardis joining as well, and keeping a couple of players from the initial Liquid team. It’s clear that Na’Vi is blowing up their roster after a disappointing season, and this move by Liquid could be promising.

Valorant World Championship PC Drama

Players like Asuna have been top prospects with lots of talent but haven’t consistently delivered good performances. Some speculate that such players might be moved from the roster. Jampi is another player who hasn’t found a clear identity in his gameplay, but perhaps Angel can help him find that if the rumors are true.

MiniBoo from Heretics noted the high difficulty of APAC’s ranking, with many skilled players. The presence of cheaters is also a concern. Meanwhile, TenZ discussed the PC problems again, a recurring issue at these events. Despite discussions over the years, Riot has not resolved the situation. Valorant runs decently on average PCs, but the pros are forced to use less optimal equipment.

Tenz on Sub Standard Equipment

TenZ expressed confusion over why Riot invests in lower-end PCs compared to CS, where the best CPUs, GPUs, and monitors are standard. He suggested that Riot’s decision might be influenced by the requirements of League of Legends, which can run on lower specs. TenZ shared new techniques for achieving stretched resolution in Valorant, which could improve FPS and performance. TenZ clarified his perspective in the comment section of his clip, stating that he complains because he has a platform to voice his opinion as a competitor, not just for himself but for all players at these events. The event hasn’t even happened yet, so this is not an excuse but a call for better equipment to ensure a fair competitive environment.

Riot to Make Changes For The World Championship?

Riot makes significant revenue from the game and its esports products, like the Champions bundles, yet it seems they do not reinvest enough into the competitive scene. Upgrading the PCs for players would be a small expense for Riot but would greatly improve the competitive environment.

This isn’t the first time a Sentinels player called out Riot for providing players with suboptimal PCs. Zellsis faced major audio issues while playing his last series in the VCT playoffs. Since the world championship is being hosted this week, players expect top-of-the-line equipment not just for the main matches but for practice as well. Already, organizations have invested heavily in providing the players with the best equipment, and now they expect Riot to do the same for the upcoming world championship.

Have your say!
