Valorant Patch 11.08 is turning out to be one of the most sweeping updates in the game’s history. Nearly twenty agents are getting adjusted, and most of those tweaks lean toward nerfs. Riot’s goal this time is clear: make players think more carefully about utility usage and create stronger counterplay moments across rounds. Here’s a complete breakdown of what’s coming.
Global Ability Reworks in Valorant Patch 11.08
Several system-wide adjustments are hitting every role in the roster.
-
Stun normalization: All non-ultimate stuns are now capped at 2.5 seconds, covering Breach’s Aftershock, Gekko’s Wingman, Neon’s Relay Bolt, and Deadlock’s GravNet.
-
Near-sight visibility: The visible range increases from 5 m → 7 m, affecting Omen’s Paranoia, Reyna’s Leer, and Fade’s Prowler.
-
Combat stim tuning: Brimstone’s Stim Beacon plus the ultimate boosts from Reyna and KAY/O are slowed to keep reload, draw, and fire rates consistent.
-
Ultimate AoE trims: Massive ultimates like Breach’s Rolling Thunder, Fade’s Nightfall, Iso’s Containment, and Cypher’s Neural Theft now cover slightly less ground.
Initiator and Sentinel Adjustments
Initiator cooldowns climb from 40 to 60 seconds on key tools like Fade’s Haunt, KAY/O’s Flash, and Breach’s Fault Line.
-
Breach: Faster stun pop (1.2 → 1.1 s), flash lasts 2.25 s, and ultimate cost drops to 8 points.
-
KAY/O: Right-click flash blind extended to 2.25 s.
-
Fade: Haunt duration trimmed from 2 s → 1.5 s.
-
Gekko: Dizzy and Wingman pickups now have 20-second cooldowns; Thrash HP 200 → 180; Wingman HP 80 → 60.
Sentinels also see heavier cooldowns and HP nerfs.
-
Killjoy: Alarm Bot HP 50 → 20; turret re-arms slower but inflicts a stronger slow.
-
Cypher: Trapwires only slow (no concussion) but reveal later after the wind-up finishes.
-
Deadlock & Sage: Walls are weaker—Sage 600 HP per piece, Deadlock 480 HP nodes—yet cheaper (300 credits each).
Controller and Duelist Nerfs
Controllers lose some uptime and strength:
-
Astra: Fragile debuff duration 5 → 2.5 s; stars for pull and stun now 60 s CD; smokes ≈ 40 s.
-
Omen: Smoke CD 30 → 40 s; Paranoia travels faster (2 m/s) but less distance.
-
Viper: Initial decay hit reduced from 30 to 10 HP.
Duelists take heavy hits, especially Yoru and Neon.
-
Yoru: Gatecrash can be one-tapped by a Phantom; adds an audio cue at origin; can’t use clone or flash in Dimensional Drift; flash max 1.5 s.
-
Neon: Fuel drain increased (12 → 16 s), recharge slowed (20 → 60 s).
-
Iso: Hindered debuff 4 → 3 s; ultimate duration 7 → 6 s; movement buff weaker, faster wind-up on Containment.
Weapon and Map Tweaks
Riot’s tuning weapons and environments to complement these utility nerfs.
-
Vandal & Phantom: Recoil onset delayed by two bullets, smoother vertical control but more side-to-side variance.
-
Spectre & Stinger: Spectre easier to control; Stinger recoil triggers faster.
-
Abyss & Pearl: Minor layout and sightline adjustments are coming to improve balance.
