Update 1.013 Fixes Key Bugs in Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade quietly dropped its 1.013 patch on both PS5 and PC, and while it came without much fanfare, the update offers a surprising number of improvements. Rather than flashy new content, this patch focuses on refinement—tackling bugs, UI tweaks, performance fixes, and quality-of-life changes that make everyday gameplay smoother.

Photo Mode and Outfits Get Attention

The photo mode received a small but important upgrade. Players can now see the control indicator when selecting a logo, making the feature easier to use. This directly improves the experience for those capturing shots of Eve in outfits like the Black Pearl or Red Pearl, especially after fixing a bug that caused her arm to bend unnaturally during close-ups.

Another visual bug fix affects the bear outfits during the final cutscene involving Orcal. Previously, Eve’s hair wouldn’t render correctly in those scenes. That issue is now resolved, restoring the proper visual continuity. A similar fix addressed localization—Eve’s Korean dialogue during a Clyde scene in the Great Desert now displays properly.

Combat, Shops, and Save System Improvements (Stellar Blade)

Update 1.013 also resolves several gameplay-specific bugs. In combat, a bug where the fusion weapon disappeared against the airborne squad after defeating Providence has been fixed. The stinger weapon’s targeting now works correctly under all input conditions.

For progression systems, players will appreciate that new gear in shops now appears instantly after increasing affinity, without requiring a reload. Save timestamp behavior has been corrected, too. Only successful saves now update the timestamp, and failed saves are more clearly marked in yellow for easy identification.

Clyde’s polarized sunglasses no longer trap players in his shop menu, and Dorang now appears correctly during their intro scene in Zeon. Even Adam’s dialogue in the Itellier section of Idos 9 is now consistently visible.

Keyboard, Mouse, and Visual Bugs Addressed

Keyboard and mouse users benefit from several fixes. Using the numpad in the training room no longer breaks the system. When fishing for the beta fish, the progress bar now displays clearly. The hair salon menu also responds correctly to zoom inputs across all control types.

FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) users now need to restart the game to fully enable frame generation. This change ensures clarity for players optimizing performance. Additionally, the patch addresses lighting, texture streaming, and other minor background issues.

No Content Drop, but a Stable Foundation for Future Updates

There’s no new boss, region, or weapon this time—but that’s not a bad thing. This patch signals a clear intent from developer Shift Up to maintain and improve Stellar Blade‘s core systems. Bug fixes aren’t always headline-worthy, but in this case, they hint at groundwork being laid for future additions.

The modular nature of Stellar Blade‘s design makes this kind of foundational cleanup important. It clears the path for potential expansions, crossover events, or gameplay features down the line.

For returning players, this update is a good excuse to drop back in. And for those mid-playthrough, the experience is now smoother, better organized, and more responsive. No extra downloads, no paywall—just a better version of what was already there.
