Hadyn Gwynne died Friday at the age of 66. The English actress, best known for The Crown and sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey, died of cancer in the presence of her family and friends in a hospital, British media reported.
Gwynne is best known in England for her role in the 1990s sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey. In recent years, she played Queen Camilla in the Channel 4 parody The Windsors, and also starred as Lady Susan Hussey in the fifth season of the Netflix hit The Crown.
During her career, the actress was also regularly seen in theater in the West End and on Broadway. For example, she played Margaret Thatcher in The Audience and had a role in the Billy Elliot musical.
Gwynne was actually scheduled to star in a new theater production in London this fall, but had to withdraw in early September due to “personal circumstances.”
