The Complete Megalithic Vault AC Shadows Guide

Location and Requirements

One of the challenging puzzles you’ll face in AC Shadows is the Megalithic Vault. However, there are a few requirements before you can start your attempt, such as:

• Play as Yasuke (this is required for moving heavy objects)
• Equip a ranged weapon (bow or teppo)
• Consider adjusting your brightness settings since the Kofun is exceptionally dark

You can easily locate the vault by finding a keyhole-shaped piece of land surrounded by water. It is in northwest Yamato with Koriyama Forest as the closest viewpoint. You just need to head slightly northeast from there to see the Megalithic Vault.

Entering the Vault

Once you’ve found the vault, then you can begin the challenge. To enter the vault, here are some steps you can follow: 

1. Push the wooden block at the entrance. This will reveal a room to the east
2. Find and shoot the red explosive jar to clear the debris blocking your path
3. Enter the now-accessible tunnel leading into the depths of the vault

Now, a pro tip is to light every candle you’ll encounter throughout the Kofun. Since it is exceptionally dark in the area, it’ll help to improve visibility and keep track of your exploration. This will save you from going through the area repetitively.

The First Section

After entering the vault, you’ll begin the first section of the game. This will lead you to the first block puzzle that you’ll need to solve to pass through AC Shadows. So, here’s what you need to do after entering the vault:

1. Move forward until you reach a large chamber with a hole in the floor
2. You’ll notice a chest behind the blocked door, but it’s inaccessible for now
3. Jump into the water below and dive underwater to find your first chest. It’ll usually contain an uncommon item like an Agile Samurai outfit. 
4. Resurface then head south to exit the water
5. Ascend the stairs and look for a crawlspace on your left
6. Go through the crawlspace to enter a room with a central sarcophagus

Once you’re in the sarcophagus room, the first block puzzle starts:

1. Head west to find another crawlspace
2. Locate the wooden block on the southwestern side and pull it toward you as far as possible
3. Find a second block that can be pulled right to reveal another chest
4. Return to the first block and push it out of the room (this can be tricky as it may get stuck)
5. Position the block against the northwestern side of the sarcophagus next to the large rock
6. Climb onto the block to reach the upper level

The Bridge Section

After going through the first block puzzle, you’ll enter the Bridge section. So this section comes up after climbing up the block to the upper level. This will introduce you to the second block puzzle of Megalithic Vault in AC Shadows. 

1. Move forward and head north when possible to find another chest (destroy nearby jars to access it)
2. Turn around and go east to find a bridge
3. Jump across the bridge and continue southeast
4. Follow the path around and up the stairs into the next puzzle room

Now that you’ve arrived in the next puzzle room, you have to be extra careful with your movements. You have to be precise as much as possible to succeed with the challenge:

1. Jump down and pull out the southeastern block to access a tunnel
2. From inside the tunnel, pull the block toward you
3. Exit the tunnel the way you came in
4. Push the first block past the sarcophagus to the back wall
5. Climb onto this block to reach the upper path
6. Navigate across ledges and vines to the next platform

The Statues Room and Final Reward

It’s time to move to the third and final section that will lead you to the exit and rewards. So the final section begins once you’ve arrived in the Statues room. In the final section, it’ll contain the following items:  

1. A room with statues in the center
2. A crawlspace on the northeast side
3. Make sure to restock in the arrow/teppo ammo refill station 
4. You’ll find a fourth chest after going through the passageway
5. Shoot the gap in the wall showing a red explosive jar with your ranged weapon
6. Return to the statue room and climb the stairs
7. Push the wooden block forward to unblock your path
8. Claim your rewards at the legendary chest:

• 1 Knowledge Point
• Additional XP of 2000
• A Legendary Armor “Elegant Samurai Outfit”
• Also, Posture Damage per Adrenaline Chunk (Legendary Engraving)

Exiting the Vault

With all the rewards claimed, you can finally leave the Megalithic Vault. This marks your success in completing the Megalithic Vault in AC Shadows. Here’s how you can exit the vault after claiming:

1. Pull back the wooden block in the treasure room to reveal a crawlspace
2. Enter the crawlspace and ascend the stairs
3. You’ll emerge back outside, completing the Kofun
