The Boostio Valorant Drama After 100T Loses To Sentinels

Sometimes, rivalries may come off too hot before the series. That’s why it was no wonder that a drama sparked between 100 Thieves and Sentinels during their matchup. Here’s everything about the Boostio Valorant drama that happened in VCT Americas Kickoff event.

A Provocative Pre-Match Taunt

Taunts are not a new thing to players especially in the esports community. Sometimes, they took it as a way to boost their morale or hype up the match. However, not all taunts can end up in a good light.

100 Thieves’ in-game leader Kelden “Boostio” Pupello knew this as he made a provocative tweet before the matchup against Sentinels. In his post, he added an image of someone wearing  Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro of Sentinels jersey. Then, he wrote a caption saying, “Banging @Sentinels today.”

This immediately gained attention from many with Boostio’s bold action to directly trash talk their opponent. It was funny however, some fans do not agree with these sentiments circulating. Further, this post set the tone for the entire match that unfolds between 100T and Sentinels.

Sentinels Strike Back on the Server

While Boostio started the Valorant drama, Sentinels kept their focus and attention on the matches they played. This left them no moment to lose as Sentinels sent 100 Thieves down in the lower bracket of the VCT Americas Kickoff. It is completely a turnaround of Boostio’s statement to bang Sentinels during today’s match.

Definitely, Sentinels showed off how great their teamplay is against former Sentinels player Boostio. Yet, at the end of the day, this was just some of the fun banters the gaming scene has. Like how some fun banter are, Zellsis smartly retaliates against Boostio’s post. After the game, he posted an answer to Boostio’s pre-match tweet. In the picture shared by Zellsis, Boostio willingly posed in a bent-over position, mimicking his earlier post.

What Did Riot Games Says

Now, more people tuned in to this drama started by Boostio in Valorant. The little taunt he made turned out to be quite serious. It quickly escalated in social media and both organizations’ management intervened.

Based on Zellsis, their organizations and Riot Games politely asked them to take down the images. They believe these were provocative and best to put away to avoid balling into bigger problems. Plus, it wasn’t really ideal to have those pics around since the match ended.

Moreover, people also began speculating that these players involved were penalized by Riot Games over their posts. Fortunately, they were not as Zellsis clarified on his X (formerly Twitter)  account. This was also confirmed by Riot Games later on that no players were fined after the taunting on social media.

The Continuing Rivalry

Will this stop the rivalry between these great teams? This taunting incident just further highlights how dominating Sentinels over 100 Thieves. Sentinels have won over 100 Thieves 12 times since back in 2020. So definitely, there’s much passion and pride at stake in every match they play.

This Boostio Valorant is certainly a way to have everyone tuned in to their games this season. In fact, they’ll have another challenging series against NRG to stay in the bracket. All these are intense matchups that you can’t definitely miss throughout the new season.

Conclusion

Boostio Valorant created a drama that made the VCT Americas Kickoff event talk of the esports community. Good enough that both Boostio and Zellsis were cool with the taunting tweets they posted. However, it is still Sentinels that took the final laugh with another victory against 100 Thieves.
