TFT Patch 14.5 Release Date and Timing

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Patch 14.5 officially came out on May 28th, 2025 after Riot Games’ normal patch schedule. This patch came out a day later than expected due to a U.S. holiday. The launch happened in the early morning hours of the next day, and then North American players had to wait an extra day for the Patch. Usually, TFT patches go live around 3 AM Pacific time, which is in tandem with the community’s expectations.
Major Highlights of Patch 14.5

Patch 14.5 is a massive update for Teamfight Tactics (TFT) that features a complete item rework. This patch fixes some staple items to bring them closer to their intended fantasy and intended role in the gameplay. Three luxurious items people enjoy using have now been taken out of the game and switched out with new items.
Besides the item updates, Patch 14.5 introduces targeted balance updates for the Cyber City and Revival: Remix Rumble modes. Additionally, this patch standardizes some cosmetic rarity tiers. Non-upgradable Little Legends and Booms are now being treated as three-star content. Meanwhile, previous Rare and Epic tiers are now being condensed into Standard tier.
Item Updates and Swaps

Redemption to Spirit Visage
- One of the biggest exchanges is the switch between Redemption with Spirit Visage. By changing the way healing items are used, it is focused more on tank units, allowing for greedier front lines. It has 200 Health, 15 Mana, 10% Durability, and a healing effect to regain 2.5% missing Health each second. Furthermore, Spirit Visage being added as a core item also caused the removal of the almost identical Anima Visage artifact.
Runaan’s Hurricane to Kraken’s Fury
- Another big swap was Runaan’s Hurricane being swapped into Kraken’s Fury. This swap moves away from Hurricane’s niche use and adds a scaling Attack Damage item that gives 15% Attack Damage, 10% Attack Speed, 20 Magic Resist, and a 3% stacking Attack Damage buff on attacks. This change is meant to make Attack Speed champions stronger late-game scaling and provide a more flexible choice than Hurricane’s.
Statikk Shiv to Void Staff
- Also removed from the core item pool and moved to the Artifact pool is Statikk Shiv, and Void Staff replaces it as a core item. Void Staff now provides 35 Ability Power, 15 Mana, 15% Attack Speed, and, never forget, 30% Shred for 3 seconds.
Aside from the item swaps, there have been a number of items modified to improve their mechanics and balance, too. Striker’s Flail (previously Guardbreaker) has had its stats modified and has a new name. Meanwhile, Chainstriker and Guinsoo’s Rageblade have been modified to better reflect those items’ roles. Then we have Spite, which has been removed completely from the game. And finally, we have items like Lich Bane, Mogul’s Mail, and Wit’s End buffed to improve their viability.
Champion and Trait Adjustments

There’s a set of well-targeted champion and trait changes in Teamfight Tactics Patch 14.5 to tweak the meta. Notably, several Champions are getting buffs to help them become relevant and change up some compositions where you have choices. Kindred, LeBlanc, Vayne, Rengar, and Veigar are all buffed, with LeBlanc’s buff the most powerful since it’s going to impact reroll comps that have been really weak for a while.
Leona’s nerf is directly aimed at suppressing her ability to repeatedly cast Durability and stall games for too long. Because of her high durability and top-level frontline presence, they increased her max Mana to slow down her casting frequency.
This patch also introduces a dedicated A-Patch targeting the Morgana Bastion comp. This has become increasingly popular due to the combination of tanky frontline and higher damage dealt. The Armor and Magic Resistance value on the Bastion trait has been reduced from 18/40/75 + 30 to 18/36/70+25. Also, the Bastion Emblem received a reduction in its conversion of Armor/MR to Ability Power from 20% to 15%.
Conclusion

Adapting and changing are what TFT is all about, and Patch 14.5 is a great reminder of that. Patch 14.5 in no way is just another patch. Rather, it’s an opportunity to reconsider your play style and new ways of playing with new tools. The item reworks alone could completely change the meta, and the new artifacts offer more depth to every match.
