A new face grace the lineup of League of Legends World Champions for their 2026 LCK Season. The reigning champs, T1, welcomed Peyz into their lineup following the departure of Gumayusi in the bot-lane. With that, T1 finally completed the roster that will challenge teams in the 2026 LCK.

The End of an Era: Gumayusi’s Departure

Shortly after their victory, T1 surprised the fans and the LoL esports community with the departure of Gumayusi in the roster. He has been with the organization for 5 years, where he achieved remarkable success. T1 Gumayusi won three World Championship and one LCK title during those years.

Also, his exit is notable as he ends the Worlds 2025 as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the final against KT Rolster. This helped cement his legacy as a clutch performer on the biggest stage of LoL Esports.

Initially, his final year with T1 was filled with challenges yet emerged triumphant at the end of the competitive season. He was benched at the beginning of the year in favor of academy player Shin “Smash” Geumjae. Only after the intervention from T1’s CEO that Gumayusi returned to the starting roster.

Although he missed the LCK Cup, his return greatly helped the team throughout the LCK season and delivered a winning performance at Worlds 2025. With that, his departure also puts an end to his dominating duo in bot lane with Keria.

Enter Peyz: T1’s New Bot Laner

Filling up the bot lane for T1 in the upcoming season is the 19-year-old Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan. The former JD Gaming’s bot laner boasts an impressive resume following his achievement in the LCK before moving to LPL. The Gen.G academy player joins and spends 2 years on the main roster where they claim 3 LCK titles out of 4 possible splits.

He also helped the team win the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational. However, they failed to advance past the semifinals in the Worlds. His time with JD Gaming was cut short as he returned to South Korea to reunite with former Gen.G teammate, Doran. Now, many are looking forward on the potential synergy between them.

The Core Remains: Faker and Company

Despite the changes in the bot lane, the T1 roster remains solid. The undisputed legend of League of Legends, Lee “Faker” Sanghyeok continues to hold down the mid lane. His contract extends until 2029, continuing his legacy until then.

Meanwhile, Doran extended his contract after a year with his performance that helped secure the first World Championship trophy. Oner and Keria also remain with the team, bringing their world-class mechanics and game sense for another year in T1. Their coaching staff remains intact as well with kKOma leading the team alongside Tom and Mata.

Final Thoughts

Expect a completely new T1 in the upcoming 2026 LCK with their roster changes. Although the departure of Gumayusi disappointed fans, the addition of Peyz sparked intrigue on what he can bring to the team. While it’ll be a big shoes to fill in, his achievements over the years speak for the talent and skills he have.
