Starfield achieves million concurrent players day after official release

Starfield has reached the one million simultaneous player mark about a day after its official release, according to Xbox CEO Phil Spencer. However, the game has been playable as early access for several days.

Xbox ceo Phil Spencer announces that Starfield crossed the one million simultaneous player mark, across all platforms, on Thursday. That includes not only the PC version, but also the Xbox version. How many of the users played on PC and how many on Xbox is unknown. However, it can be seen on SteamDB that the game peaked at 269,177 concurrent players on Steam on Wednesday. On both Xbox and PC, the game is also playable via Game Pass; how many users played the game via this service is also unknown.

Starfield was made available early on Sept. 1 for players who purchased the Premium or Constellation editions of the game. On Sept. 6, the game was officially released. How many people played the game in total is not known. In 2021, Forza Horizon 5 had 10 million total players in its first week, which it said at the time was the best first week for an Xbox game.
