All Legendary Artifacts in STALKER 2 and What They Do

STALKER 2 features several legendary artifacts that provide some of the strongest bonuses available in the Zone, ranging from maximum physical protection to improved endurance and unique anomaly effects. They’re also among the hardest artifacts to obtain, with some appearing only at specific locations and others relying on rare anomaly spawns. The Cost of Hope DLC adds another four legendary artifacts exclusive to its new content.

All Legendary Artifacts in STALKER 2

The base game includes conventional legendary artifacts associated with different anomaly types, several unique Weird artifacts, and the story-related Heart of Chornobyl.

Artifact Location or Source Effect
Compass Gravitational anomalies Maximum Physical Protection; Maximum Radiation
Heart of Chornobyl Story-locked Required for a specific ending
Hypercube Thermal anomalies Maximum Thermal and Bleeding Protection; Maximum Radiation
Liquid Rock Chemical anomalies Maximum Radio and Chemical Protection
Thunderberry Electric anomalies Maximum Endurance; Maximum Radiation
Weird Ball Bulba, Zalissya Reduces incoming bullet damage while standing still
Weird Bolt Tornado Anomaly, Yaniv Reduces anomaly damage while charged
Weird Flower Poppy Field, Zalissya Makes you harder to detect for 300 seconds
Weird Nut Fire Whirl, Cooling Towers Rapidly heals Bleeding but slows regular healing
Weird Pot Mist, Burnt Forest Reduces hunger and hunger buildup but can cause Psi hallucinations
Weird Water Wandering Lights, Zaton Reduces radiation effects but can occasionally make you drunk

The Weird artifacts are tied to particular anomalous locations, making their acquisition more predictable once you know where to look.

The Compass, Hypercube, Liquid Rock, and Thunderberry work differently. These can appear around appropriate anomaly fields throughout the Zone, but their legendary rarity makes them difficult to find.

Where to Farm Legendary Artifacts

Your best hunting grounds depend on the artifact you’re trying to obtain. Each of the four randomly spawning legendary artifacts corresponds to a particular family of anomalies:

  • Compass: Gravitational anomalies such as Whirligig and Vortex
  • Hypercube: Thermal anomalies including Burner, Comet, and Clicker
  • Thunderberry: Electric anomalies such as Tesla and Electro
  • Liquid Rock: Chemical anomalies including Gas Cloud, Bubbles, and Fruit Punch

Finding the correct anomaly type doesn’t guarantee a legendary artifact. Compass, Hypercube, Thunderberry, and Liquid Rock are rare spawns, so locating them can require repeated searches.

All Cost of Hope Legendary Artifacts

The Cost of Hope DLC introduces four additional legendary artifacts found through its missions and new areas, including the CNPP.

Artifact Location or Source Effect
Flare Light The Forgotten mission Provides Psi protection and removes human faces from phantoms
Flickering Flare Bridge to the CNPP Increases Psi protection
Heart of a Shadow Chimera Shadows of the Past mission Improves all non-Psi Protection and Resistance stats; Radiation: 4/5
Water Drop DPP-2, CNPP Increases Carry Weight and Endurance; Radiation: 3/5

These four artifacts require the Cost of Hope expansion and cannot be collected through the base game’s standard anomaly fields.

Flare Light and Flickering Flare are particularly notable because they’re currently the only artifacts that provide Psi protection, giving them a specialized role against threats that rely on Psi effects.

Is the Heart of a Shadow Chimera Worth Using?

The Heart of a Shadow Chimera is one of the strongest general-purpose defensive artifacts available in STALKER 2. Rather than specializing in one damage type, it improves every Protection and Resistance category except Psi and radiation.

Its drawback is significant, however. The artifact carries a 4/5 Radiation rating, which makes combining it with other highly radioactive legendary artifacts difficult without the right equipment.

Players planning to build around it should compensate through suit upgrades or artifacts capable of providing Radiation Dispersion. Doing so makes it easier to benefit from the Heart of a Shadow Chimera’s broad defensive bonuses without allowing radiation buildup to become the bigger threat.

Ultimately, the best legendary artifact depends on your equipment and destination. Compass is valuable when physical protection is the priority, Thunderberry supports stamina-heavy exploration, and the Cost of Hope artifacts introduce options for Psi defense and more balanced protection. Collecting several gives you the flexibility to adjust your loadout for different parts of the Zone.
