The latest Slurp Rush Update focused mainly on Reload, but Battle Royale received a notable change. Fletcher Kane now spawns at the portal in Magic Mosses every match. This shift marks the start of the build-up toward this season’s upcoming mini event. Previously, his spawn location rotated between vaults, but now players can count on his appearance at Magic Mosses each game. Although the vault marker still shows his icon, only one version of him and his medallion exists per match. This is a display bug, not a sign of multiple bosses.
Additionally, Fortnite adjusted the grab accuracy for the scorpion item. While not widely used, players who rely on it should notice slightly improved consistency. The pickaxe trick, changed last week, remains untouched. Dual or single-handed pickaxes are still required to perform the trick, and it wasn’t reverted in this patch.
Slurp Rush Update Brings Chapter 2 Reload Map
The Reload mode received major changes, starting with the introduction of a new Chapter 2-themed map. This map, now the only available one in rotation, will be active until April 29. During this two-week window, players can’t cycle through other maps. This guarantees all players the opportunity to experience the new island without needing to wait for rotations.
Key locations from Chapter 2 are featured in this map, including Slurpy Swamp, Steamy Stacks, and Dirty Docks. Landmark locations also return, but Holly Hedges is not part of the current layout. A key difference with this map is the abundance of slurp barrels and slurp trucks, making shield recovery easier throughout the match. Early game and mid-game shield availability help maintain game pacing, which is why this patch is named the “Slurp Rush Update.”
New Loot Pool and Non-Drivable Cars in Reload
The loot pool in Reload received several updates, including the return of popular items like the Red-Eye AR, Slurp Juice, Mammoth Pistol, Chapter 1 Jetpack, Hammer AR, and Thunder Shotgun. Although the Red-Eye AR is strong in traditional Battle Royale, it may not be as effective in Reload due to the game’s faster pace and shorter engagement ranges. Weapons like the Hammer AR offer more versatility and may better suit Reload’s combat scenarios.
Speculation around the return of cars in Reload sparked discussion after footage of the new map showed drivable cars. However, cars currently on the Reload map are not usable. All of them have boots on, making them undrivable, just like previous versions that featured occasional booted spawns. While this may change in the future, cars are not currently a part of Reload gameplay.
Free Vanguard and Elite Zade Skins Available
Two new Zade skins are now available for free. The Vanguard Zade skin is unlocked by earning 50 account levels between now and June 7. While 50 levels may sound like a grind, players have more than 7 weeks to achieve this, and a full season reset will occur during that time. The second skin, Elite Zade, is earned through performance in a skin cup scheduled for April 26 and 27. High-performing players in that tournament will unlock the skin without cost.
Although there’s no confirmation yet on whether these skins will appear in the item shop, recent trends suggest Fortnite will eventually sell them. Epic Games has scaled back exclusivity across the board, and it’s likely these Zade skins will follow suit.
