Seeing first, then believing: according to Ubisoft, we can finally expect Skull and Bones sometime in the first quarter of 2024.
So reports Darryl Long, the managing director of developer Ubisoft Singapore. He will start working at Ubisoft in Toronto next year, but has added that the game is really coming out soon after all.
The Guard doesn’t believe it until he holds the game in his hands, as the game has been delayed multiple times since its unveiling in 2017. There was even a beta earlier this year, but yet another delay followed last October.
Ruan got to work on a preview version and was not yet unapologetically positive, but saw potential in it: “Skull and Bones is likely to be a fine game that will play especially smooth and responsive. The ship battles look a bit arcade-like and the Indian Ocean promises to bring many mysteries and beautiful locations. Whether we can also enjoy a story remains to be seen. At least the basis of a fine pirate game is there, but the lack of a cohesive feel does leave a foul aftertaste for now.”
