Should You Pull Qiuyuan in Wuthering Waves 2.7?

As version 2.7 enters its second phase, many players are preparing to pick up Qiuyuan, especially because he’s considered the best-in-slot sub DPS for Galbrena. While that alone is a strong reason, there are also a few viable alternatives that let Galbrena still perform exceptionally well. This makes it worth breaking down exactly what Qiuyuan offers, his synergy with Galbrena, how he compares to other supports, and whether his signature weapon truly makes a difference.

Qiuyuan’s Kit and Echo Skill Support

Qiuyuan’s strength lies in how he amplifies echo-skill damage across the team. His standout buffs include:

  • 50% echo skill damage amplification through his outro skill.

  • 30% echo skill damage bonus via his forte circuit.

  • 30% crit damage bonus through his resonance liberation.

  • An extra 20% echo skill damage if his signature weapon is equipped.

All of these bonuses make Qiuyuan invaluable for resonators who rely on echo skills. Since his own attacks count as echo skills, he naturally supports the triggering mechanics that certain characters depend on. For instance, Galbrena’s Afterflame mechanic gains up to 60% bonus damage from repeated echo-skill activations, and Qiuyuan enables that chain consistently.

Beyond Galbrena, this same mechanic benefits characters like Flova, who thrive when echo skills are used repeatedly in a rotation. In short, Qiuyuan empowers any lineup that scales from echo damage, giving him broad value beyond a single team.

Galbrena Synergy and Team Alternatives

Qiuyuan + Galbrena

This pairing creates one of the strongest echo-focused cores in the current patch. Qiuyuan boosts Galbrena’s output directly while also triggering the echo-skill counts needed for her Afterflame stacks. In teams built around echo damage, this combination achieves both consistent uptime and massive burst potential.

Alternative Compositions

If Qiuyuan isn’t available, a mono-fusion team remains a strong substitute. Running Lupa and Brant alongside Galbrena stacks fusion damage, heavy attack bonuses, and sustainable burst windows. Lupa provides additional fusion resistance shred and damage bonuses, while Brant’s outro skill adds heavy-attack amplification without requiring much field time.

Players without Brant can replace him with Mortefi, whose outro skill grants high heavy-attack amplification and solid attack boosts. Even though this lineup won’t match Qiuyuan’s echo amplification, it performs more than well enough to clear endgame content.

Another viable option is Flova, who contributes both heavy-attack buffs and additional echo-skill activations. While her 35% heavy-attack bonus doesn’t match Qiuyuan’s 50% echo boost, Galbrena still benefits substantially due to her hybrid scaling. Iuno also works as a fallback choice with a large heavy-attack amplification, though she doesn’t trigger extra echo skills—making her synergy more limited.

Signature Weapon Analysis: Emerald Sentence

Qiuyuan’s weapon, Emerald Sentence, reinforces his sub DPS and support role:

  • Main Stat: +24% crit rate

  • Passive: +12% attack bonus

  • When casting an echo skill and following up within 10 seconds, it grants a Bamboo Cleaver stack worth +30% heavy-attack damage (max 2 stacks = +60%).

  • Casting an intro skill grants +20% echo skill damage to all resonators for 30 seconds.

This design perfectly fits Qiuyuan’s gameplay—rapid echo triggers, strong teamwide buffs, and sustained echo uptime. The +20% team buff also gives the weapon flexibility: it can even be equipped on another sword user like Brant purely for the shared bonus.

That said, Emerald Sentence isn’t mandatory. Other one-hand swords like Emerald of Genesis provide reliable attack bonuses and can substitute if pulling on the weapon banner isn’t ideal. Still, for players building echo-damage teams, the synergy between Qiuyuan and his weapon offers clear long-term payoff.
