Roadcraft Update Adds New S Trucks and Scout Trailer

The latest Roadcraft update introduces a new class of vehicles—S trucks—designed for recovery operations. The first in this category is the S Not Electro, previously seen only as an AI vehicle. Unlike scouts, it lacks object and terrain scanners but includes a winch, differential lock, and all-wheel drive. Two more variants—the S MU TI1 and S Step Pike—are upgraded versions of their original counterparts, now equipped with winches for vehicle recovery.

While these additions are useful, heavy cranes remain the top choice for recovery tasks due to their sheer strength. However, with speculation of fuel mechanics being added to Roadcraft’s hard mode, S trucks could eventually provide refueling capabilities, adding another layer of functionality to these vehicles. One current issue to note: winch sound effects are missing on the S MU TI1 and S Step Pike, while they work correctly on the S Not Electro.

Links With Trailer Offers Scout Utility Plus Transport

A standout addition is the 6×6 Links with Trailer—a powerful scout variant equipped with object and terrain scanners, a winch, and a fixed rear trailer. Unlike standard Links models, this one can carry both cargo and vehicles, making it a hybrid between scout and transport roles.

While the Links struggles slightly with heavy loads on rugged terrain, it performs well on smoother routes. A newly added strapping system also ensures transported vehicles stay secure, even during aggressive driving. It’s a flexible, capable option for players who want a do-it-all vehicle that’s compact yet practical.

Quality of Life Additions: Photo Mode, Engine Control, Quick Markers

This update isn’t just about new trucks—several quality-of-life improvements are now available:

  • Photo Mode: Now live, but camera distance is limited. Using two vehicles is recommended for better composition.

  • Secure Transport: Players can now strap down vehicles on trailers for safer hauling.

  • Engine Toggle: Hold the handbrake to turn your engine on or off—perfect for immersive play or resource management.

  • Quick Marker: A one-button press adds a map marker instantly, although players still have to manually remove them.

Rain frequency was also allegedly reduced in all regions, but player reports suggest that rain events remain fairly common during gameplay.

Patch Tweaks: Vehicle Access, Visual Improvements, and Bug Fixes

Beyond core features, several other adjustments were made:

  • Toggle for Asphalt Rollers: Players can now choose when to activate asphalt rolling on all roller vehicles.

  • Sand Flattening Mode: Available for the Cronin Work L34, making it more effective on loose terrain.

  • Visual Enhancements: Sand pouring effects have been improved when filling dump trucks.

  • ZIK 605E Engine Boost: Restored variant now features a stronger engine for smoother transport (note: not faster, just more efficient with loads).

    Vehicle Unlock Adjustments:

    • Warden Mobile Operation Base: Now unlocks at Level 15 (previously 20)

    • Arling Road Works 750R: Level 13 (previously 19)

    • Arling Road Works 120: Level 13 (previously 14)

Finally, while the duplication glitch when recalling vehicles has reportedly been patched, some players are still seeing duplicate vehicles outside the garage. These function normally in the world but can’t be stored again—so use them while they last.
