Players can now send select bundles or items directly to friends using the new gifting system introduced in Valorant Patch 10.08. To send a gift, players must visit the store, open the details page of a featured item, and click the new gift button. After choosing a recipient, they can select either the full bundle or specific items. Recipients will see the gift upon logging in and can choose to accept or decline it.
Currently, gifting is restricted to featured store content. Riot plans to expand this functionality in future patches. This update also prevents players from using alternate accounts to scout better offers or rare skins and transfer them to their primary accounts.
This addition ties into Valorant’s fifth anniversary celebration. Players will hear music from Episode 1 return in patches 10.08 and 10.09. For long-time fans, this brings a nostalgic atmosphere to the game.
Agent Changes: Yoru and Astra Receive Nerfs (Valorant Patch 10.8)
Patch 10.08 introduces notable balance changes to Yoru and Astra. Riot reduced Astra’s Nova Pulse stun duration from 4 to 3.5 seconds. This change aligns the ability with most other non-ultimate concussive effects in the game. Riot aims to manage power creep by standardizing stun durations. However, Astra’s stun requires more setup than other agents’, which raises concerns about the fairness of this adjustment.
In contrast, Yoru receives a more direct nerf. His ultimate, Dimensional Drift, now lasts 10 seconds instead of 12. Riot also increased its cost from 7 to 8 points. This change targets how powerful Yoru can be in gathering information while remaining untouchable. Many players at higher levels agreed that the ultimate felt too efficient for its cost. Shortening the duration limits extended scouting routes without eliminating the skill-based depth of the ability.
Brimstone also received a small tweak. His incendiary grenade audio is now easier to hear when placed inside smokes, improving clarity during chaotic gunfights.
Replay System Teased for Champs Time
One of the most talked-about announcements didn’t appear in the patch notes themselves but came from Riot’s anniversary video. A developer mentioned that the team is aiming to release a replay system around the time of Valorant Champions. While this isn’t a firm deadline, it suggests Riot feels confident in the feature’s progress.
A functional replay system would benefit analysts, content creators, and competitive players. It allows in-depth reviews of positioning, utility usage, and team strategies without relying on external software or livestream replays. While the general player base may not see immediate benefits, it would be a major step forward for the game’s ecosystem.
Giveback 2025 Skins and Charity Details
Riot also revealed the Giveback 2025 skin bundle. This rerun features five previously released premium skins:
-
Prime Classic
-
Zero Fang Ghost
-
Recon Phantom
-
Cryostasis Vandal
-
Valiant Hero Operator
Unlike previous years, Riot did not host a community vote. All guns were pre-selected. Each skin is priced at 1,775 VP. Accessories include a gun buddy (975 VP), a player card (775 VP), and a spray (675 VP). The full bundle costs 7,265 VP.
Fifty percent of the proceeds from skin sales will go to charity, while all accessory proceeds will be donated. The higher-than-normal accessory prices reflect this charitable initiative, encouraging players to support the cause.
Valorant Patch 10.08 doesn’t revolutionize Valorant’s meta, but it delivers meaningful quality-of-life improvements and agent balancing. With gifting finally in place, a replay system teased for launch around Champs, and community support through Giveback 2025, this patch highlights Riot’s ongoing effort to evolve the game thoughtfully.
