Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive Launching September 11

Resident Evil Requiem is getting its own horror attraction at Universal Studios Japan, with Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive opening on September 11, 2026. The limited-time experience recreates the Wrenwood Hotel and puts guests into a scenario involving Grace Ashcroft, Leon S. Kennedy, and plenty of zombies.

The attraction will run through December 27, 2026, giving Resident Evil fans several months to experience a new interpretation of Capcom’s latest survival horror game.

What Is Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive?

Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive is a new Universal Studios Japan attraction inspired by the events and characters of Resident Evil Requiem.

Its story centers on Grace Ashcroft, the FBI intelligence analyst introduced in the game. Guests enter the attraction while searching for Grace after she disappears during an investigation.

The experience includes a recreation of the Wrenwood Hotel, one of the locations associated with Requiem, while returning Resident Evil protagonist Leon S. Kennedy also plays a role.

Naturally, the attraction isn’t limited to investigating Grace’s disappearance. Zombies are part of the experience as well, bringing Resident Evil’s survival horror elements into a live theme park setting.

The Dive Is Rated R-15

Universal Studios Japan has given Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive an R-15 rating, reflecting the more intense horror content visitors can expect.

That fits the source material. Resident Evil Requiem follows both Grace and Leon as they investigate a new mystery while facing the series’ familiar combination of monsters, zombies, and survival horror.

The attraction translates those elements into an in-person experience rather than simply recreating scenes from the game.

Resident Evil Requiem Has Been a Major Success for Capcom

The attraction arrives after Resident Evil Requiem established itself as another major release for Capcom.

Requiem launched earlier in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, bringing Leon back alongside new protagonist Grace Ashcroft.

The game has continued selling strongly since release and has broken franchise sales records along the way. While it hasn’t yet become the best-selling Resident Evil title overall, its early sales trajectory puts it in a strong position within the series.

Its commercial success also makes Requiem a natural choice for Universal’s growing lineup of attractions based on major video game horror properties.

Is Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive Coming to North America?

For now, Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive has only been announced for Universal Studios Japan.

There is currently no confirmed North American version of the attraction.

Universal has increasingly incorporated gaming properties into its horror experiences, including Five Nights at Freddy’s, but that doesn’t guarantee The Dive will eventually appear at another Universal park.

Unless further locations are announced, fans who want to experience the Wrenwood Hotel attraction will need to visit Universal Studios Japan during its September 11 to December 27 run.

More Resident Evil Is Coming Beyond Requiem

Capcom’s horror franchise also has several other projects on the horizon.

A new Resident Evil movie directed by Zach Cregger is scheduled to reach theaters on September 19. The film is set within the world of the games and takes place during the Raccoon City incident associated with Resident Evil 2, although its story isn’t simply a direct adaptation of the game.

Capcom is also preparing Resident Evil: Veronica for 2027, bringing back another entry that fans have long wanted to see revisited.

Resident Evil Requiem itself isn’t finished either. Capcom has confirmed that story DLC is in development, although it hasn’t announced a release date or revealed exactly what the expansion will contain.

Rumors have suggested the DLC could arrive after Resident Evil: Veronica, while separate leaks have pointed to the possibility of Spencer Mansion appearing. Neither detail has been officially confirmed, so they should be treated as speculation until Capcom reveals its plans.

In the meantime, Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive gives the series a different kind of expansion. Starting September 11, visitors to Universal Studios Japan can step into the Wrenwood Hotel themselves and join the search for Grace Ashcroft.
