Rainbow Six Siege’s System Override update flips ranked, Dokkaebi and a Vegas style map on June 2

Rainbow Six Siege Operation System Override | ranked 3.0, Dokkaebi remaster and Calypso Casino map for PC and console grinders

Rainbow Six Siege’s next season, Operation System Override, lands on June 2 and it is not a small patch. Ubisoft is rolling out a full Dokkaebi remaster, a brand new Calypso Casino map inspired by Rainbow Six Vegas, and a Ranked 3.0 overhaul that changes how your rank actually works.

This breakdown goes through every confirmed System Override change that hits your MMR, your loadouts, and your map veto decisions, based only on Ubisoft’s official patch notes and blog posts.

Dokkaebi’s Jegeo Payload can now literally delete defender phones

Dokkaebi is the headliner for System Override, and her entire gadget identity is changing. Ubisoft replaces Logic Bomb with a new gadget called Jegeo Payload, named after the Korean word for “elimination”.

Instead of mass calling the entire defending team, Dokkaebi now targets individual phones, uploads malware and turns that device into a bomb that explodes, deals 40 HP damage, and leaves behind a burning zone. When that phone is destroyed, the defender permanently loses access to their cameras for that round, which is a huge problem for Echo, Maestro and anyone who leans on cams late round.

How Jegeo Payload works for attackers and defenders

The new ability has more charges and a shorter cooldown than Logic Bomb, but each activation has a shorter uptime, so timing matters more. If a defender does not answer the infected call in time, the phone detonates and the fire field can chip away at anyone standing nearby.

Dokkaebi still keeps her post kill hacking, but with a twist. She can now hack dead defenders’ phones remotely, even through walls and from long range, yet the camera access this gives to attackers is no longer permanent and expires after a set duration. Mute jammers still block calls from starting, although once a Jegeo upload has begun, running into a jammer does not cancel it, so defenders need to be in jammer range before the hack attempt.

Dokkaebi’s new and confirmed loadout

Ubisoft confirms Dokkaebi’s final System Override loadout on the official season page.

Primary weapons

  • BOSG.12.2 shotgun

  • Mk 14 EBR marksman rifle

  • XK23 assault rifle (new)

Secondary weapons

  • Gonne 6 hand cannon

  • SMG 12 machine pistol

  • C75 Auto machine pistol

Secondary gadgets

  • Smoke Grenades

  • Stun Grenades

  • Impact EMP Grenades

She remains a 1 health, 3 speed attacker in the current armor and speed system, so she still plays like a fast flanker with nasty mid round impact.

For ranked, this turns Dokkaebi into a much stronger answer into shield setups, intel heavy turtle comps, and late round camera abuse, while still giving her global pressure if your team coordinates the timing around executes.

Ranked 3.0 means your visible rank now is your skill

System Override ships with Ranked 3.0, which Ubisoft labels as a full ranked overhaul rather than a small tweak. The old hidden MMR system is being removed and the studio keeps repeating the line that “your skill is your rank”.

At the start of Operation System Override, every player gets a hard seasonal reset and has to play five placement matches to get a starting rank. Behind the scenes, your previous performance still influences where you land, and match outcomes adjust RP based on team strength, so beating stronger teams gives more RP while losing to lower ranked squads hurts more.

New rank structure and Champion splits

Ranked 3.0 keeps the classic rank ladder, but Champion gets split into five separate divisions, Champion I to Champion V, which adds more granularity at the high end. The global Champion leaderboard starts at Champion I, so every climb at the very top now has visible steps.

Squad restrictions also get tighter in the new system. Players can queue together within three ranks for most of the ladder, but Diamond and Champion stacks are limited to two ranks of separation to keep extreme mismatches out of the top bracket.

Ranked rewards track and why grind behavior may shift

Ranked progression now feeds a dedicated reward track that unlocks charms, competitive coins, and a seasonal operator headgear. Each win counts as two matches for this track, so pure win streaks pay out faster, and the headgear can be unlocked by anyone who plays enough ranked games, regardless of peak rank.

For grinders, the net effect is that placements and early season win streaks matter even more, and smurfing on new accounts becomes less attractive because you need consistent performance on a single profile to climb and unlock the whole seasonal track.

Calypso Casino is Siege’s new Vegas style ranked map

Calypso Casino is the only new map arriving in Year 11 and it launches with System Override as a full ranked eligible map. Ubisoft describes it as a modern take on the Calypso Casino from Rainbow Six Vegas, rebuilt around Siege’s destructible sandbox.

The map mixes a flashy casino front with a crane for rooftop access, a basement spawn where attackers can rappel up the façade, and expanded drone vent networks that connect multiple floors and wings. Ubisoft is pushing Calypso Casino into Ranked, Unranked, Quick Match, Team Deathmatch, Landmark Drill and Clear House from day one, with a Discovery playlist featuring only Calypso Casino running from June 2 to June 9.

How Calypso Casino enters the ranked map pool

System Override also reshuffles the ranked map pool around three buckets that always appear in map bans.

  • Pro League maps, which are fixed for the full season.

  • Seasonal maps, which rotate to keep the pool fresh.

  • One showcased map, a spotlight pick chosen by the level design team, starting with Calypso Casino.

Every map ban phase now shows two maps from the seasonal and pro pools plus one showcased map.

For ranked players, that means you should expect to see Calypso Casino often in your bans and matches during the first weeks, so investing time in custom games or the Discovery playlist is basically mandatory if you want to avoid throwing early rounds to poor map knowledge.

Mouse and keyboard officially arrive on console, with strict matchmaking rules

One of the most requested and most divisive features is finally on the way for console Siege. System Override confirms official mouse and keyboard support on consoles as a mid season update.

There is a big catch for aim assist surfers. If you plug a mouse and keyboard into your console, the game will put you into the PC crossplay player pool, and mouse and keyboard remain forbidden in other console only pools. This applies to ranked and other main modes, and Ubisoft also ties text chat support to these mixed input teams so communication lines match PC expectations.

Custom games get a new Input Device rule where hosts can allow or block mouse and keyboard, which is useful for scrims, stacks with mixed hardware, and console tournaments that want to lock in controller only play.

Trial operators, map modernizations, and playlist tweaks help new players catch up

System Override also tries to make Siege more approachable for new and returning players without turning it into a different game.

Rotating trial operators across all main modes

Ubisoft is introducing rotating trial operators that you can play for free in normal playlists. Each week, there will be six trial operators, three attackers and three defenders, and you can queue with them in Enlisted, Quick Match, Team Deathmatch, Unranked, Ranked and Siege Cup. If you already own one of the trial operators, that slot does not count for you, so some players may see fewer than six.

This gives new players a way to test popular operators in full matches before spending Renown or R6 Credits, and it lets returning players sample recent releases without committing.

Modernized Emerald Plains, Kanal, and Outback

Three existing maps receive “modernized” versions in System Override, Emerald Plains, Kanal and Outback. The modernized tag here refers to upgraded lighting, shadow work, and 4K textures, plus updated destructible elements to match Siege’s current tech and balance standards.

These modernized maps are added to the Clear House training playlist alongside Calypso Casino, so you can learn new angles and destruction values in a lower pressure environment. Field Training also gets Fortress, Kanal, Outback, Skyscraper and Theme Park, plus more playable operators such as Azami, Caveira, Echo and Fenrir.

Every confirmed buff and nerf in System Override

Ubisoft’s System Override patch notes list several targeted balance changes across attackers and defenders. These are not full reworks, but they can easily influence pick rates and site setups in ranked.

Gridlock’s Trax become slower and much harder to clear

Gridlock is getting a mix of buffs and a smaller nerf that mostly trend in her favor.

  • Trax spike health goes from 1 HP to 35 HP.

  • Stepping on Trax now causes limping for 10 seconds.

  • First Trax deploy delay goes from 0.45 seconds to 0.40 seconds.

  • Trax deploy time goes from 0.5 seconds to 0.45 seconds.

  • Trax canister throw time goes from 0.45 seconds to 0.40 seconds.

  • Trax canister count drops from 4 to 3.

These changes make each canister stronger and a bit faster to set up, although you get one fewer overall.

Zofia gets her old speed profile back

Zofia is moving back to a more flexible stat line. She shifts from 3 health, 1 speed to 2 health, 2 speed, taking her closer to the way she played when she first released.

For entries and flex players, this means you get better mobility for swings, peeks and recoil control, while still keeping her utility kit that includes Impact grenades via her launcher and concussion rounds.

Nomad, Mozzie, Pulse, Solis and Deimos all see small but real buffs

Several utility focused operators quietly gain more reach and uptime.

  • Nomad: Airjab trigger range is increased, with Ubisoft listing it as a range increase that makes it easier to catch flanks and pushes.

  • Mozzie: Pest capture radius increases from 1.5 meters to 1.75 meters, giving more room for greedy drone placements.

  • Pulse: Cardiac Sensor range jumps from 9 meters to 10.5 meters, which helps vertical play and scan setups behind thicker cover.

  • Solis: SPEC IO scan duration goes from 15 seconds to 17 seconds, slightly increasing her gadget uptime.

  • Deimos: the DeathMARK Tracker’s wait time before it starts tracking an identified target is reduced from 5 seconds to 4 seconds.

None of these changes rewrite how the operators function, but together they buff info and trap play, which leans into slower, more methodical rounds.

Weapon tuning, including AK 74M attachments and XK23 rollout

On the weapon side, Ubisoft confirms that Nomad’s AK 74M can now equip the full grip suite, including vertical, horizontal and angled grips. This improves handling options and lets players tune the rifle toward faster ADS or more stable gunfights.

The XK23 assault rifle is rolled out beyond Dokkaebi as well, and is now available for Rauora and Sens as part of the free seasonal addition. Ubisoft describes the rifle as strong at mid range and good for aggressive yet controlled pushes.

QoL upgrades, Siege Cup history, cosmetics and events

System Override wraps a lot of smaller quality of life features, events and monetization tweaks into the season too.

Better pings, chat info and more match replays

The ping system is getting smarter. You can now double tap to convert a regular yellow ping into a danger ping, which is perfect for fast “do not swing this” callouts. Ping to text now prints out smart pings and their locations in the chat log, and operator icons show up in text chat next to player names.

Match Replay capacity on PC goes from 12 stored matches to 30, which is a big deal if you review your own VODs, scrim data, or use replays to scout common site setups.

Esports tab and Siege Cup history

The Esports tab in game is being updated with Tier 1 team pages so players can see team info straight in client. Siege Cup now has a History section that stores your last tournament run, with maps, teams and results visible when you open the feature.

Membership, Battle Pass and high end skins

On the monetization side, Ubisoft is adding a three month membership tier, sitting next to the existing one month and twelve month options. The Operation System Override Battle Pass offers 600 R6 Credits to anyone who already owns Dokkaebi, which effectively discounts the pass for long time players.

Delta Packs are updated to include a recolored F2 Masterpiece skin this season, and new events, MUTE Protocol: Flesh and Metal and Rengoku, will ship Masterpiece skins for the UMP45 and T 95 LSW respectively. Ubisoft also lets players buy Memento rewards directly from the shop with R6 Credits instead of forcing full collection completion first, and some older collection items are slated to return to the store.

Seasonal camo, operator price cut and new voice lines

The seasonal cosmetic this time is a System Override operator appearance called “great caliber”, a universal headgear and uniform that you can unlock and keep forever across available operators.

Fenrir’s price drops to 10,000 Renown or 240 R6 Credits in line with Ubisoft’s usual seasonal operator discount cadence. New voice lines are also added for Denari, Maverick and Dokkaebi, with a mix of lore nods and reactive banter.
