The fourth balancing patch of the Rainbow Six Siege season is officially live. The Y11S1.3 update focuses entirely on quality of life improvements to make specific operators more consistent. While Ubisoft avoided massive meta shifts ahead of the new season, they quietly pushed through some highly requested weapon buffs and gadget tweaks.
R6 Siege Y11S1.3: Patch Highlights

| Gunplay | M762 (Zofia) | Reduced Horizontal recoil. | More predictable mid-range spray. |
| Gunplay | SPEAR .308 | Reduced First-shot & Vertical kick. | Higher lethality for Thunderbird/Finka. |

If you struggled with the horizontal bounce on Zofia’s assault rifle or felt like your roaming abilities ran out just seconds too early, this patch directly addresses those headaches. You will notice immediate differences in how certain assault rifles handle and how forgiving defender utility timers feel right now.

We are breaking down exactly what changed, how it impacts your ranked grind, and which operators are actually worth locking in tonight.
Assault Rifle Recoil Buffs
The biggest win in this update goes to the gunplay. Several older assault rifles received specific recoil reductions to make them reliable again.
Zofia’s M762 finally got a horizontal recoil reduction. The gun has been notoriously difficult to control during sustained fire due to its random left and right bounce. While it might not instantly return to its former top tier status, the reduction in horizontal kick makes burst firing significantly more predictable. You can confidently take medium range gunfights without the reticle aggressively wandering off target.
The AUG A2 for IQ and Wamai received a reduction to its vertical recoil. This makes the weapon much easier to hold down on a fixed angle. The SPEAR .308 for Finka and Thunderbird also saw targeted improvements. Ubisoft reduced both the first shot kick and the overall vertical recoil. If you main Thunderbird on defense, her gun will feel noticeably smoother when you snap onto an attacker pushing your site.
Defender Gadget and Timer Upgrades
Ubisoft extended the active duration for several selfish defender abilities. Caveira’s Silent Step and Vigil’s ERC-7 both increased their active times from 12 seconds to 15 seconds. This gives you plenty of extra time to finish a deep flank or slip past drone work without having to uncloak and expose your position.
Warden also received a small bump. His Glance Smart Glasses now last for 22 seconds instead of 20. Two seconds might sound small, but it provides a slightly wider window to anchor a site against heavy smoke and flashbang executes.
Faster Utility Activations for Kaid and Zero
Kaid players are walking away with a huge tactical advantage. The activation time for his Electroclaw dropped from 4 seconds down to 3.5 seconds. Half a second is massive when you are actively trying to Kaid trick a wall against a Thermite or Ace charge. You now have a larger margin of error to react to sound cues and get the wall electrified before the hard breach detonates.
Zero also got a faster gadget turnaround. His Argus Cameras can now fire their laser every 12 seconds instead of every 15 seconds. Most defenders shoot the camera immediately after you zap a piece of utility, but if you manage to hide the camera well, you can now clear multiple defender gadgets at a much faster pace.
Event Timings and Next Season Teasers
Alongside general bug fixes aimed at smoothing out the rest of the season, the patch files include all the data for the returning Rainbow is Magic event kicking off on May 6. You can expect the limited time mode to run for the next few weeks.
If you are already looking past the current meta, mark your calendar for May 17. That is when Ubisoft will fully reveal the next season of Rainbow Six Siege, with the full launch expected in early June.
