Persona Series Roadmap: What’s Next for Atlus Fans in 2025

Atlus officially announced that Persona 3 Reload will release on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, 2025. The remake has already sold over 2 million copies, becoming one of Atlus’ fastest-selling titles. However, the Switch 2 release has caused some debate among fans.

The Digital Premium Edition costs $90, yet it does not include the $35 Episode Aigis DLC or any of the additional costume and BGM packs bundled in the expansion pass. Meanwhile, the physical edition ships as a game key card, meaning the cartridge does not contain the actual game data and requires a full digital download. Players have voiced concerns over storage limits and pricing, especially when compared to other platforms. Despite this, the Switch 2 launch is expected to perform well thanks to the game’s popularity and strong sales momentum on existing platforms.

Persona 4 Revival Updates and Release Window

Persona 4 Revival, the complete remake of the 2008 PS2 classic, was revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. It will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with day-one availability on Game Pass. Atlus has not confirmed an exact launch date, but investor reports indicate a planned release window within fiscal year 2027, placing it between April 2026 and March 2027.

While a Switch 2 version has not been announced, Atlus has not ruled out the possibility. Fans remain hopeful, especially given the success of Persona 4 Golden on portable platforms. The remake promises significant upgrades in visuals, audio, and gameplay systems while aiming to retain the charm and storytelling that made the original a fan favorite.

Atlus Survey Hints at Persona Spin-Offs and Remakes

Atlus recently launched a comprehensive fan survey designed to shape the future of the Persona series and other major franchises like Shin Megami Tensei and Etrian Odyssey. The survey focuses on several key areas:

  • Preferred platforms for future Persona and Atlus titles

  • Which Persona entries (1–5) should receive spin-offs

  • Desired genres, including soulslike, roguelike Metroidvania, action RPG, life simulation, dating sim, online multiplayer, and more

  • Interest in sequels for Metaphor: ReFantazio, which has already sold over 2 million copies

Past surveys have directly shaped Atlus’ development roadmap. Persona 3 Reload, Persona 4 Revival, and Ryo Remastered all followed high-demand feedback from earlier polls. Atlus is now gathering insight on which classic games to revisit next, signaling that remakes for Persona 1, the Persona 2 duology, and Devil Summoner titles are under serious consideration.

Future Persona and Atlus Projects on the Horizon

Atlus producer Kazuhisa Wada and Ryo Remastered director Kazuyuki Yamai have both hinted at additional remakes and remasters in interviews. Atlus is positioning itself to balance new releases with updates to legacy titles, using player input to guide development priorities.

There’s also growing speculation about Persona 6, with many expecting Atlus to reveal details once Persona 4 Revival’s launch approaches. Combined with the global release of Persona 5: The Phantom X later this year and the ongoing success of Metaphor: ReFantazio, Atlus appears committed to expanding its portfolio while maintaining close ties with its fanbase. Atlus’ consistent focus on fan feedback makes this an exciting time for long-time Persona followers and newcomers alike.

With multiple projects already confirmed and more remakes, spin-offs, and sequels on the horizon, the next few years are shaping up to be pivotal for the franchise.
