PEAK: How to Get the Bellringer Badge

The Bellringer badge in PEAK requires players to find and ring five Belltowers during a single run through GLOOM, one of the two biomes added with The Final Ascent update. The challenge sounds straightforward, but GLOOM’s sleep-inducing fog, changing map layouts, and hostile Ghosts can make finding all five towers difficult.

Preparation is particularly important because you’ll need to spend time exploring the swamp beneath the fog. Here’s how the challenge works and how to improve your chances of finding all five Belltowers before leaving GLOOM.

How to Unlock the Bellringer Badge in PEAK

To earn Bellringer, you must ring five different Belltowers in one run. You’ll encounter the towers in GLOOM, the fourth biome of a run after progressing through ALPINE or MESA.

The key requirement is completing everything during the same attempt. Progress doesn’t carry between runs, so you’ll need to locate all five towers before continuing beyond GLOOM.

Belltowers are primarily found throughout the swamp, meaning you’ll have to descend into the biome’s dangerous fog to search for them.

When you locate a Belltower, approach it and interact with it to ring the bell. The surrounding mist will clear, improving visibility and making it easier to assess the nearby terrain.

Repeat this process until you’ve activated five towers to satisfy the Bellringer requirement.

Prepare for GLOOM’s Sleep Fog

Searching for Belltowers means spending a significant amount of time inside GLOOM’s fog. The longer you remain submerged, the more the sleep effect builds up.

Bring items capable of countering the effect whenever possible. Useful options include:

  • Candlesticks
  • Cure Alls
  • Faerie Lights

These items give you more time to explore before you’re forced to retreat above the fog.

It’s also worth identifying elevated rocks and other safe terrain while moving through the swamp. Getting above the fog allows you to recover and gives you an opportunity to plan your next route.

Follow Scout Statues to Find Belltowers

Scout Statues can help point you toward Belltowers while you’re exploring GLOOM. When you encounter one, check the direction it’s indicating and investigate that section of the biome.

However, Scout Statues aren’t a guaranteed route to your next bell.

PEAK’s map changes regularly, so a statue that leads directly to a Belltower during one run may point toward an unhelpful location during another. Treat the statues as navigation hints rather than a guaranteed solution.

Once you’ve rung a tower, use the newly cleared area to look for additional landmarks and determine where you haven’t explored yet. This can reduce the chances of accidentally circling back to towers you’ve already activated.

Use Belltowers Against Ghosts

Ghosts add another complication while you’re searching through the fog. Listen for their distinctive audio cue, as it warns you that one is nearby.

If a Ghost approaches while you’re close to a Belltower, ringing the bell can destroy it. This lets you deal with the immediate threat while simultaneously making progress toward Bellringer.

Destroying a Ghost using a Belltower can also earn you the Exorcist badge, potentially allowing you to make progress on two of The Final Ascent’s new challenges during the same GLOOM run.

The safest approach to Bellringer is to enter GLOOM with plenty of protection against sleep, explore the swamp methodically, and use Scout Statues whenever you find them. Ring every Belltower immediately rather than saving it for later, keep track of the areas you’ve already searched, and don’t leave the biome until you’ve activated all five required for the badge.

Have your say!
