The next big Overwatch 2 update, Season 11, is going live this Thursday, June 20th. While it doesn’t add any new heroes, there’s still a ton of fresh content for players to dig into. PC gamers can get prepared by pre-loading a couple days early via Battle.net. This season should run for around 2 months before Season 12 begins.
Battle Pass Brings Cartoon Chaos
Season 11’s Battle Pass is themed around a vibrant, over-the-top “Super Mega Ultrawatch” aesthetic inspired by classic 90s cartoon action shows. The premium track includes 5 new Legendary skins with this flashy Ultrawatch style for Genji, Reaper, Sojourn, and the marquee Mythic skin Calamity Empress Ashe. There’s also an Epic Lifeguard Lucio look. Free players earn an Epic Aztec Sombra bundle plus other rewards.
Legendary Cosmetics to Unlock
In an unexpected crossover event kicking off July 9th, Overwatch 2 is colliding with the iconic Transformers franchise. While details are limited, players can likely purchase 2-5 Legendary Transformers-inspired skins.
In addition, one of Overwatch’s most beloved charity skin initiatives is making a comeback! The iconic Pink Mercy skin benefiting breast cancer research is available once again after years of demands. There’s also a new Rose Gold Mercy bundle with proceeds supporting the same cause.
Mythic Weapon Skins Debut
Introducing a new ultra-premium customization tier – Mythic Weapon Skins. Alongside the Mythic skins like Calamity Empress Ashe, players can unlock tiers of ornate Mythic weapons using Mythic Prism currency from the Battle Pass.
New Map and Colosseo Revamped
A brand new Push map titled Runapasi is entering the rotation. Set in the Peruvian Andes, it features tight urban environments nodding to local culture like an Inti Warrior museum connected to Baptiste’s homeland. It’ll be playable in both Quick Play and Competitive playlists.
The existing Colosseo Push map is getting a major overhaul too. The glass barriers are gone from the starting areas, providing more open space. There are new flank routes, a mega health pack, and better cover around capture points.
Hero Meta Shakeups
A few heroes are getting significant reworks and adjustments:
-
- Cassidy loses his Magnetic Grenade, regaining his old Flashbang for close-range stuns. Other quality-of-life changes too.
- Reaper’s Shadow Step will be overhauled eventually, but first he gets unspecified buffs to his non-Tank killer potential.
- Symmetra may receive beam damage boosts or survivability skills to improve her frontline presence.
Other Overwatch 2 Season 11 Updates
- New “Mastery” courses teaching advanced tactics are coming for the heroes Kiriko and Soldier: 76. Completing the related challenges between June 20th and July 9th will grant large Battle Pass XP bonuses up to 22,500 XP.
- A nice quality-of-life upgrade will make hitting Battle Pass milestones easier. Players can now go back and complete previous weekly challenges before moving on to the current ones if they missed some.
- The Community Crafted Arcade mode makes a return, featuring bizarre custom rulesets and wacky hero buff/nerf settings created by community figures.
